• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I am going to bible study tonight. I bought some snacks for the group and am looking forward to going.

Thank God for a good group of people. I like talking about my problems and praying about them in a group.

We are studying Ezra.

Today, I had a good day sleeping and shopping for snacks.

I am blessed to have enough to eat, place to sleep, and people to talk with.

I am grateful for what God has provided me.

Thank you, Jesus!

:)

I heard about some kind of virtual chip, its the same technology they use in self driving cars. They claim it has potential to manage pain and mental problems. Sounds a bit cyborg to me, but I don't know. I'm afraid of something that can control my brain. Natural supplements and medicine is one thing, but I'm not sure about computer chips.

Good evening to everyone in the name of Jesus Christ! At the moment, I'm just going through my favorites (in the wrestling folder of favorited channels with wrestling videos on them, and deleting the channels that no longer exist from my favorites, which is fun to me :) )

Seeing the sorry state the world is in with all these terrorist attacks, wars between minorities and the police, military buildup in Eastern Europe and Russia and now a coup in Turkey... All I can do is fiddle as the world burns.

my coworker asked me if i knew of any recipes that contain edible??? blood in them.

recently he converted to Paganism and he genuinely believes he can control the weather/it matches his mood (sunny when happy, rainy when upset and it starts to rain when he thinks it) and that all of his "spells" work. He thinks he's being edgy by wearing a pentagram to work. I don't like engaging in debates at work about personal beliefs, it's unprofessional, but at the same time :/ I kinda wanna burst his bubble. I'm just gonna watch how far this rabbit hole goes before stepping in because it could be nothing and he's just trying to be edgy/scary/whatever, but this could start to be a symptom of something bigger. If he expresses interest in live sacrifice, I'll say something. To someone. Probably our boss.

And now that I think about it, black pudding exists.

Yeah I know what you mean. For metal issues I rather take meds or do therapy than a chip. For this is an implant for hearing I"ll see if I can post some information on it if it doesn't violate the board rules or I can shoot it to your inbox. Either way let me know please, if you like to know more. My SO sat trying to convince me this will help me and I"m sitting here going but I don't want another surgery yes I been through it but seriously just not sure. I want to risk a magnet sitting there for the rest of my life if it wont do a bit of good. I get it it may help, but I just don't know. Anyway I think our water is being worked on out here, there's no pressure so I hope it back by 5 or 6 when we start dinner. Trying to enjoy a Sunday afternoon while SO is at work.. Blessings everyone

Hi everyone, back from Perth. We got a new puppy, a cross rottweiler, mastiff, and some other kind of breed I forgotten the name of. Rocky is turning 9 and has small cancerous growths all over her body and now one big lump, she doesn't seems sick or bothered much but we fear she might not last that much longer, 8-10 years is her life expectancy, so she is basically with one foot in the grave. We called the puppy Shadow, she is darn cute. We also celebrated mum and dad's 64 wedding anniversary on Saturday night. Apart of sleep I have been reasonable good, still a bit on the low side, but better than I have been. I'm babysitting one of my granddaughters this morning, she has been into everything and loves the new puppy. I like playing grand dad it is good fun.

have a blessed week:wave:

That breaks me heart. I once had a golden retriever that I loved dearly only for him to die from lung problems when he was only 5 or 6 years old. It was hard. At least the puppy you got now has a good home.

I'm glad you're doing good.

Oh you had a golden retriever as well. So did we, though ours died at the age of 11 years old nearing 12 even. He was a very healthy dog. Sad that you lost your friend so early on, dogs lives are short as it is. We called him Rolly, the name the kids gave him because he loved rolling around as a puppy.

We have been through a few dogs over the years, but we like the Rottweiler/Mastiff breeds the best, for not only are they very good guard dogs, they are smart, loyal, and have an independent part to their characters that stops them from being overly frightened on their own or them from crying all night when we are not home. We also found that they are really good with kids and don't need that much attention as some other dogs do.

This is Rocky she has been our best dog ever and we love her heaps and will miss her sadly when she dies.

Good one! It can be hard to walk with her around my feet all the time, she is very much like a shadow when it comes to that. Also because of her dark colour and how she moves like a shadow through the room exploring everything and because I liked that name better than a lot of other names we been through. The kids and grand kids liked that name too.

Feeling unmotivated. I don't know why, other than the fact that I feel like I'm moving too slowly in my life. I don't know what to do in life. There's so many goals that I want to accomplish with God's help, but I'm not sure what to do first. Should I get baptized first? (I'm asking this because I love God very much, and I would love to be a full-fledged Catholic-Christian.) Should I get a job first? Or learn to drive a car, then ride a bicycle, then operate a scooter, and finally riding a motorcycle? Or should I go to vocational school? So many things to do, so little time...

Disaster struck during the night an aerating pump stopped working and now most of my fish are dead, I don't know precisely how many because the water is to cloudy at the moment and I don't want to upset the survivors too much they were half dead when I got there this morning.

This is a major set back and I am devastated at the loss of fish which could be as high as 26 - only 4 left that would mean. It looks like I am going to have to double everything up to make sure that at least one is working. My mood has dropped to below zero and I'm fuming at myself for not preventing this. I can't believe how unreasonable, unforgiving, and plain moody I can be. I hate existing like this. Why can't I take failures or set backs and have to wreck my health try to deal with such things as these? The fish are worth 60 bugs and this 'failure' a dent in my pride, but what the heck is so bad about that? I know I can learn a lesson from this, I already have.

The good thing is the first few strawberry plants are flowering and shooting new leaves and the spaghetti squash has taken off like a manic and 6 or 7 bean plants have sprouted in the seed bed even though it is mid winter here.

I also realised that for safety sake I'm going to have to rebuild a part of the way I'm doing things, preferable as soon as possible but I feel crap now and had a hard time disposing of my fish - though the dogs loved them - the puppy as well.

Shadow is doing really well. A bit lonely at times because Rocky the B.I.T.C.H totally refuses to acknowledge her. She is as jealous as anything even though we always give her everything first to acknowledge her superior position. Each time the puppy tries to play with her she growls and twice she snapped at the puppy, though I don't think she hurt it the puppy wasn't happy with the events. She sleeps all night though even when she hears that I'm up during the night doesn't she whine apart after 5am then she thinks it is time I give her breakfast I think but I simply ignored her and so did Rocky so she waited till I got her. It is going to be fun training her I reckon, she already gets the sitting down for her food bit.

I started a new sleeping remedy last night after clocking very poorly for the last week - about 3 hours average maybe less - I got 7 hours last night over three tries so that is really good lets hope this will continue.

Have a great day

 Sorry about what happened ): There's possibly nothing you could have done to prevent it from happening. You didn't know.

Rocky is establishing herself as the alpha dog of the pack, just keep an eye on her so she doesn't get violent. It can take a long time for an older animal to accept a new member. Good luck training her!

That's good about your sleep. It's a difficult issue to deal with, that's for sure.
