yeah since blessings are pretty much nerfed here people don't come here to play now

I don't really ( get ) the blessings thing .
Honestly it's just lost on me , probably because I'm new :)

It's funny how that happens .

Long ago, that is 3 owners ago there was all sorts of things to do with blessings you could buy things to customize how your posts looked and your little homepage was set up. There were pets you could "feed" and avatars you could dress up (some called them paper dolls). The stuff to equip the dolls cost blessings with some rare items cost a LOT of them. You could get blessings by posting at 1 blessing per post or you could buy them with money or you could post in special sponsored threads in the blessings exchange where people pay you to post in a thread or two. There were groups of people that would pour blessings on folks that were newbies so they could equip themselves (fix up their character and post looks) Back then you could also choose what font and color your posts looked like too something I miss.

It seems every new owner has less desire to make the forum entertaining and more desire to inspire endless debate sections. Luckily now they have pretty much nerfed everything fun about the forum they can't take away much else other than perhaps shutting down some of these fellowship areas.
Coming back and looking. The feel is definitely colder and less friendly. The debates are all over the place. What first drew me to the site was the fun and sense of community. Now I almost feel I'm walking through an inner city alley and need to keep my guard up. With that being said I'm glad there are still a few safe havens.

I have a feeling that folks aren't going to come back much when they see how boring the place is now.

Change is the only constant. We just have to find where we belong. For now for me it's in this thread with old friends and maybe some new ones.:holy:

Now there is no use for blessings.... in fact the only way to get them now is to have someone with them give some to you and then the only thing you can do with them is give them to someone else.
That makes me sad a little.

Yeah, this place is more about conflict than love for sure and there is a lot of begging for people to get their site supporter (money) status and almost no noticeable improvements here other than adding yet another debate area.

well I decided when I joined here I wouldn't leave till I became no longer useful and have decided that debates aren't going to encourage more folks to join the place only those who fail to fall in line to leave.

I figure it will take a new owner to have any dramatic changes here.... the current owner seems stuck on spamming folks for money.... turn off your adblocker..... this weekend 15% off lifetime supporter status. I don't see paying money here for to keep the current owner who is not really doing anything that I like other than keeping the place open just to keep from the endless nags.

Waves start out small before they become big. It just takes a few to make big changes. It only takes a few to come back and create excitement.

Who knows maybe it's time for a reunion of the community. For the love and compassion to come back and sweep over the site.

perhaps.... but I've been here for 9 years now and so far this new owner I don't see things changing at all for the better the only thing that will get much going is more people tiring of facebook and other social media sites wanting to be here with those who are here.

In today's world it's hard to have growth when voices are silenced and make the environment very segmented.

More people are interested in selfie time and knowing what the latest celebrity gossip might be. Those who comes to sites like CF are searching for a place of love, compassion, and community. Cf used to be have more tolerance to those just like that from all over the world. It appears to have closed down further

When Erwin was making the changes that he did I didn't see the big picture then. Now I do.

I wish I would have championed his fight more.

However if it were meant to have happened it would have. I guess I'm glad to still have just the little fragment of the original board that we have.

There is nothing left of the old CF other than us and a few leftover graphics that are so tiny now they might as well be thumbnails. At times I almost wish the forum would go under so maybe there would be a chance at an owner that has a vision to do something with this place dramatic.

CF is a labor of love. Just like teaching a Sunday School class or any volunteer activity... If ones heart isn't in the game the whole thing suffers. I think the owners are just like any other business person and just want to make money.

I think one of the reasons for success under Erwin is that it was all based around the membership and doing things for the members. It was a community.

Well I must sign out. I'm up way past my bed time. I blame the red bull I had around 4 pm.:yawn::sleep:

Yeah and too many folks have bailed out on the place I didn't bail because typically once you start to bail you continue to find an excuse or out for the next place and the next place till you are nowhere in the end.
