Is it better to have Christ drug through the mire of ancient society? I mean, you seem to have a problem with the picture of what ancient Jesus might have looked like because he's depicted as a criminal. Heck, homosexuality is not a new or modern thing.

When he does these things we will gladly lay down the pleasures of this world for the higher things.

I'll say this one thing regarding Jesus "sexuality"----anyone that has the power to speak a feast into appearing yet will starve for 40 days---is going to have no trouble saying no to any woman---or any man for that matter. I am having trouble believing that the guy who claims Jesus was bi-sexual is a Muslim. They throw them off the tallest buildings.
I do not find the image the OP put up as a criminal nor particularly offensive. It is more Neanderthal looking though. The bible does state that Jesus was not "comely" that none should desire Him. But there is not good looking and homely and the Op picture is a little too homely for me. He was not disfigured as He was without spot or blemish, just not a hunk.
Not being able to picture a world without sex says more about the individual than about heaven. As mortal humans, we can only think carnally. Whatever God has in mind is going to be better than anything here:
(1Co 2:9) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

The bible says that virtue went out from the Lord's presence. I will go along with the shroud of Turin image as the authentic image of Christ because it also portrays a virtuous man. The image of the Christ the scientist designed is a refection of the evil in their hearts.

It portrays what an average man would look like if he lived in that place in that time... and we know that Jesus, for all his qualities, was of average appearance.

Every now and then you would see someone get saved. You could tell, not only by the haircut, but by the basic change in the guy. The Christ would come shining through, and we would all be afraid of the guy.

I would expect to see some kind of change in anyone who gets saved and accepts Christ in his life. It ought also to be something refreshing. If you are going to do up the image of Christ I would expect to see some virtue in his countenance!
