I know exactly what you mean. Even some writing sites I've been on do much of this. The latest site I was on did that so much that no one was willing to create a plot/story with me that didn't have to do with sex. What constantly goes through my mind is "sex sells". It's really disheartening.

I hate to read something which makes me only think about the writers possible obsession of writing about sexual stuff. I think there are times when some erotic/sex stuff actually adds to the story, or is key element in it. But most of the times, it would work just as well or even better if it was left out completely.

That's a primary gripe of mine with so much fiction. It's often totally unnecessary, but a sex scene just HAS to be there at some point, it seems.

I wrote the story and dialogue for an entire mid-length RPG once, ... and guess what? No sex involved. Sure it's in our biology as Earthling creatures, but, that doesn't mean everything has to revolve around it.

One of my writing buddies once inserted our whole group into one of his nanows with the intention of killing them all off one by one. It was pretty hilarious.

Yeah, they do it every year. If you can hold out until April when they do "campnanow" (a word goal challenge in April, but you set your own word goals if you're too busy for 50.000, and done in a group setting) I can invite you to our group and you can get a half off coupon that way.

Nope, we have a Canadian in our group; and a German, and someone from NZ, and an Australian-- we're a varied group. lol. The coupon, I'm not entirely sure about though.
