If it were truly free, everybody will be in heaven.
I know there are scriptures in which Jesus said it would cost someone everything to follow Him.
For example: Leaving All to Follow Christ

Which supports my original post saying it is earned. One must do something to receive the gift.
It is not free if one must agree to stipulations of the contract. How so? I mean, even if something were free, if I don't accept it I don't get it. That doesn't mean it's not free.
The gift comes only after satisfying the conditions in order to receive the gift. In this case, one must give in order to get.So if you accept a gift from someone, do you take credit for that gift simply because you accepted it?
Dad: Here you go, son! I bought you a brand new car for your birthday!
Son: Thanks, Dad! But it's not exactly a gift since I have to put in the "work" of accepting it from you!
Dad: Learn some gratitude, son!

I already posted that. Don't make me repeat myself. #773So how did you earn your salvation?

Yeah, so why are people entitled to salvation if salvation is the work on another person?
I already told you. They're not entitled. Nobody is entitled to receive a gift from anyone.
I haven't said a thing about you and your salvation. So back off.So you accepted Jesus. Are you going to boast about that before other people as to what you've done to get to Heaven? Remember what Paul said about salvation being a gift?
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
I could get salvation from Jesus without doing anything.
Nobody is entitled to receive welfare, either.
I could get salvation from Jesus without doing anything. Others can do a whole bunch of stuff and not get salvation from Jesus. How is that not socialist?
I haven't said a thing about you and your salvation. So back off.
If you can't have a discussion without making it personal then this place is not for you.
My testimony is none of your business.I haven't said anything about yours either. All I did was ask for your testimony.
My testimony is none of your business.
I would give you another answer except I'd we warned. Not the kind of answer we're to give one another. "but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect" 1 Peter 3:15
My testimony is none of your business.
