Also, John did have access to something that I do not. He had direct access to heaven and he actually saw the future in a vision. This was so that he could warn the future generations.

But John warned HIS generation that "the Time Was Near"...
What were those people supposed to believe?
That he was wrong?

The Lord's next intervention is at hand .... His hand, and His call

He has tarrys for a reason, but He will not when He is ready to bring His judgment [2 Peter 3:8-9]

And He has said that few will find the narrow gate to immortality .... most will not

So His true ecclesia are few in number, are today, and this has always been true

.... just look around today

There are 8 billion on the earthtoday and true Christianity is scarce .... many profess, but few are saved

And He is going to complete His own numbers and then turn His focus upon Israel [Romans 11:25-36]

2000 years is nothing to the Lord, and the average age of a man is short

From birth to death for any man is momentary and a short time to wait

Remember that time isn't the same to God and saying the time is at hand, Revelation 1:3, does not mean earthly time

So Jesus, being, you know, God, did not mean "near" in earthly time when He said this?:
Matt 24:33 So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors!

I prefer to let scripture interpret scripture... Unlike you I don't "look around" outside the Bible to tell me what the Bible says.

Yes the forum knows that you are a preterist who has no need to look for anything because you think that all things are past .... nothing to look for

I am not going to bother with your responses on this very significant thread .... because you have nothing to talk about in the first place

But you should look around anyway .... and you do not have to look very far away [2 Peter 3:1-4]

By the way your little ditty above is cute, but flakey

So much for being honest about putting me on ignore....
Lying is a sin that you must repent from if you want to be forgiven. Especially in these crucial times.

Correct, Jesus most often spoke in parables and in such a way as those who didn't like His message couldn't understand.
Matthew 24:33 is quite clear: When you see these things, you will know the end is near.

Yes, I agree, your 'ditty' is very unwise of you and is just provocative, please remove it.

Help me out....So you are saying Jesus did not mean "near" in earthly time in the above passage?

Seems pretty "unclear" if we are to apply your previous assertion that When God says something would be "near" it is not meant to be understood as near in earthly time...

You seem to be saying that in Matt 24:33, Jesus actually means "When you see these things, you will have no idea how far away in earthly time the end is."

Do I get that right?

Should I answer a person that refuses to even comment on a simple request? Your cartoon is just a 'flame' to provoke those who believe in the Bible truths of end time events. You are a classic scoffer, you forget that God destroyed the first civilization by a flood and this time He will use fire to destroy the godless unbelievers.

Jesus said: WHEN you see these things, THEN you know the end is near.
We now see the budding of the fig tree; that is: Judah back in the Land. That's clear enough.
My previous reference to time being different to God, stands. Don't mix Matthew 24:33 with that truth.

You're definitely right that people have been ringing alarm bells for a very long time about what is going on and what will happen soon. But the reason why I say that these things are so imminent is because of what is happening as laws are passed that are cracking down on Christianity, especially in the USA. We still have freedoms now, but we must not take that for granted. I would definitely be willing to talk with you provided nothing happens. I don't want anything to happen at all, besides for more people to repent & come to know the Lord Jesus that their lives too might be changed. I am thankful that there are so many Christians the world over and that more people come to know Jesus daily. However, earth is fast turning into hell. Consider our dear brothers & sisters in countries where they are daily living in fear of ISIS or the government coming after them to throw them into jail. Take a look at what is happening in the USA with Christian speech being labeled as hate speech and it's being called hate to say that God does not approve of homosexuality. People are being thrown into jail in this country as well, and these things are being stepped up. These are not things that should be taken lightly, these are things we must heed, and that is why I say to pay attention. When these things can be tolerated a little bit in one place, they will be tolerated a little more in another place, and a little more in another, until before we know it Christians in this country are being severely persecuted as well. When I say wake up, I mean we need to spend dedicated, focused time in prayer & the word of God daily, seeking the face of the Lord, because that is the only way we will understand what is about to happen. People who serve the Lord have been feeling a sense of urgency in their spirit for a long time. This is because God continuously warns about what will happen before it happens because He is merciful & wants us to be prepared. More than that, He would rather withhold the judgment. However, because we love evil things (killing our babies instead of helping soon to be mothers by offering financial help and all types of support; changing the definition of marriage, an institute clearly made by God between man & woman so that they could populate the earth) rather than God, because we choose to justify the evil things we do rather than turn from our sins and repent, these judgements do happen. This is not what God wants. When you read in the Old Testament, you will see that before God brings judgment, He will warn & ask continuously for His way to be done. Like with Moses & Pharaoh. Did God want to punish the Egyptians that way and cause such sorrow when they all lost their firstborn children? No. Did Pharaoh force God's hand by not heeding Moses' pleas? Yes. You may say that God hardened Pharaoh's heart, but look further, in the first chapters of Exodus, you will see how the pharaohs were killing the children of the Hebrews. Was that right, was that good, was that just? Absolutely not. Thus, the Egyptians called down judgment upon themselves by continuing to uphold an evil lifestyle. We must not put God in a box and say that an event will happen at one point or another. No one knows the day or the hour and God is merciful. He will continue to withhold judgment when He sees hearts change and when we pursue Him, our Maker, our Father. However, when we continue to turn from Him & do evil towards each other, when we continue to spit in His face and harm the innocent and say that we can change His ways, that is when we must fear, because that is when it is inevitable that the judgment hand of God will come down. My friend, when I say wake up, I mean we must pray and seek first the kingdom of God. God always wants us to draw near to Him, in both good times and bad, and when we draw near to Him, when we uphold in prayer our persecuted brothers & sisters, when we ask for God's will to be done upon the earth, when we see things the way God sees them and the iniquities being worked upon the earth begin to hurt our hearts the way they hurt the heart of God, then we are on the right page.

I've been reading this booklet from Living Waters titled "Noah and the Last Days: Noah's Ark, Evolution, and Scientific Facts in the Bible" (it's free), and it lists 10 signs of the last days. I figured I'd post them here as the start of a succinct list:

● The Scriptures tell us that there will be money-hungry Bible teachers who will slur the Christian faith and deceive many:
“. . . there will be false teachers among you . . . And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words . . .” (2 Peter 2:1–3).
● There will be wars, earthquakes, famines, and widespread disease:
“For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be
famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places”
(Matthew 24:7).
● The moon will become blood red:
“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD” (Acts 2:20).
● Blasphemy will become commonplace:
“. . . in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers . . .” (2 Timothy 3:1,2).
● There will be an increase in the acceptance of homosexuality as there was in the days of Sodom:
“Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot . . . but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed” (Luke 17:28–30).
● Religious hypocrisy will be prevalent:
“For [although] they hold a form of piety (true religion), they deny and reject and are
strangers to the power of it [their conduct belies the genuineness of their profession]”

(2 Timothy 3:5, Amplified).
● People will deny that God created the heavens and that He judged the world through Noah’s flood:
“There shall come in the last days scoffers . . . for this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished” (2 Peter 3:3,5,6).
● The future will become frightening:
“. . . men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken” (Luke 21:26).
● Scoffers will mock the Second Coming by claiming these signs have always been around:
“. . . scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, ‘Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation’” (2 Peter 3:3,4).
● People will ignore the warning of the gospel:
“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be” (Matthew 24:37–39).

Signs I am thinking of are the nation of Israel reborn. Jerusalem in the hands of the Jews. Europe about to become the ten-king (leader) kingdom.

Point taken, Dougg. I briefly thought about that too before I posted it the first time but I didn't have enough time to edit it over. I broke it up, should be much easier to read now.

How pathetic you are son

I can ignore you, or address you anytime I want to do so on this forum, for which you can do nothing

When your preterism is defeated you then resort to personal attacks and this just proves out the folly of the false dogmas of your religious affiliation

Another thing about the cartoon - the Simpsons is very heavy into subliminal messages, and before I stopped watching TV, I noticed they were getting more & more bold with the messages they were putting out. This cartoon may be taken as a joke, but it is not. This is yet another sign that we are nearing the end. All mainstream sources (as far as I know as I no longer watch TV purposefully) are hinting at dire things to come. The Simpsons movie (it was quite sinister and if you watched it and thought about it after a spiritual awakening, it's even more sinister) was a warning, hinting at things to come. These are all signs we must take heed of. Look how TV shows are degenerating and promoting things that go against the word of God. This is all to attack the minds of the many millions of people who tune in to these things each day. As Christians, as followers in Christ, as soldiers in His army, we would do well to take heed of what we allow before our eyes and be more selective. The most important thing we can do is pray, seek the face of the Lord, listen for His voice, worship, fellowship with other believers, and ask God to continue doing His work through us, His willing servants.

It may be near to you son ..... you have not been on the earth very long

From your birth .... to your death is but a vapor just waiting to pass

.... the Lord is eternal [John 1:1-14

He said "before Abrham was, I am"

Can you understand this?

About the picture, personally I don't take offense at it. It's true that there have been a lot of date setters over the years. I hope everyone realizes that this topic is not about setting dates. No one knows when it will happen; just that it will happen "next" on the prophetic calendar.

The entertainment industry and culture are symbiotic in a way. What depravity exists in one soon shows up in the other. The point of this thread is that (imho) the depravity has been increasing in my lifetime at an almost unprecedented rate.
