I doubt very seriously the Pope would have done that. Not at all in keeping with the nature he's shown.

I do not agree with that .He is genuinely kind to those to whom he should be ,
and discouraging to those who vaunt their vices as something to be accepted as normal and good . It is very important to distinguish active acceptance , and passive politeness .
