Although I have long said that both the Left and the Right Wing are both wings on the same bird of prey that takes advantage of both (shared here and here ), I came across this fascinating chart that stood out to me when trying to show the ways that Democrats and Republicans tend to express themselves - with it being akin to parenting styles that others prefer :

And even from a Chinese perspective when it comes to seeing how the Right vs Left perspectives differ (as The body politic of China may seem topsy-turvy to a casual observer from a foreign land. Placing “liberalism” on the “right,” ..due to how in Communist Party parlance dating from the good ol’ Soviet days.. the “left” was associated with Communist revolutionaries and the “right” with “reactionaries” who were repeatedly purged by Mao" ):

That said, do others here feel that the styles of Right vs. Left tend to either overlap - or that sometimes they can be beneficial whereas at other times they can be negative? Do others here feel that one style of parenting (if using that context to frame political leanings) can be representative of where others saw results in one setting and tried to extend it to multiple stances? Additionally, is there truly a difference between the two in absolute stances or do the same results tend to get created - similar to parents that allow for their kids to do whatever/hope they'll learn from experiences while others try to control every move of their kids hoping to prevent mistakes ....while others say they will punish their kids for many things that seem problems (Even when they are not) and the result for all those dynamics are kids who are not as successful as they could be

This stupidly confines people to one box or another. I don't believe in that.

There was no room for 3rd party dynamics involved....

1. It is confusing that they made the left red and the right blue when in all other media it is the reverse...

2. With my Armenian upbringing by fair-minded yet devoutly Christian parents I see that I have been raised with the best aspects of both sides. I think that with Christianity being the driving force an upbringing cannot fit into either the left or right but rather MUST pull aspects from both.

The political terms "Left" and "Right" originate with the French Revolution.

The essential difference is social equality vs. social hierarchy.

In just about every country but the US the color "red" is associated with the Left.

I think what you noted on the issue does make a world of difference when it comes to learning how to pull from both worlds rather than being limited to one above all else - and I'd also say that both sides have room to develop and evolve. Like you, my Christian background often influenced me to not go for one above the other and to see truth in both....

And no box even close to fitting me.

No room for Paladins at all.
As said before, the box is strictly for Republican vs Democrat - it is not a multi-set of boxes for everyone, as the OP notes.

That said, if one does not like the boxes, they can always suggest what would need to be expanded instead of simply speaking against it.
