This small book is one of the best written on the subject of the State of Israel and God's covenantal promises!

Here is a book cover blurb:

"The first edition of 1948 has been called a "devastating critique of modern dispensational claims."

The second edition is expanded about twice its size, the second edition book cover is shown above!

This book is one of my biggest personal treasures and reading pleasures and if I had the financial means to, it would be my pleasure to distribute this book to pastors and friends freely. This is a book of immense importance, gravity, and weight.

Writer Preston, covers passages such as Isaiah 11:11-12; Ezekiel 20:33-38; Ezekiel 22:18-22; Ezekiel 36:22-24; Ezekiel 38-39; Zephaniah 2:1-2; and much more!

Wouldn't give a plug nickel for any literature that says Christendom today is the Israel of God or anyone that denies dispensations. Especially the dispensation that came into being in 63 AD.

Roll eyes all you like Bro. Israel is Israel:

Rom 11:26-30
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes.
29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

God has a remnant hidden away of the twelve tribes somewhere in this BIG world. Remember the 7,000 in Elijah's day?
For every prophecy expert there is a different theory and much money to be made.

I recommend---->>>the  Holy Writ. Good reading there.

Don’s most popular book, Who is this Babylon?, a study of Revelation, has received international critical acclaim. Don’s largest book to date, “We Shall Meet Him In The Air: The Wedding of the King of kings” (2010 ed.), is the very first, and only, full length (450+ pages) commentary on 1 Thessalonians 4 from the preterist (fulfilled) perspective. Dr. Preston’s writings have appeared in almost every major religious p
eriodical of the Churches of Christ.

Dr. Preston has participated in several formal public debates as well as radio debates. His opponents include some of the leading evangelical leaders of the day, including: Joel McDurmon, of American Vision; Harold Eberle, of Worldcast Ministries; Thomas Ice, co-founder with Tim Lahaye, of the Pre-Trib Research Center; Dr. George Westlake Jr., radio host and Bible expert for “Living Answers for Today,” Harold Hoehner of Dallas Theological Seminary; Dr. David Engelsma of Reformed Theological Seminary; C. .

Don K Preston is definitely a preterist. And Mr. Preston is an awesome debater I might add. I want to read more of his work. And the recommended book in this thread drives that dull nail into wood on the false teachings of dispensationalism and Christian Zionism.

Wouldn't give a plug nickel for any literature that says Christendom today is the Israel of God .

Well "that book" is the one with Romans 2 and Romans 9 in it. Because that is what they say.

in Christ,

Bob

Dispensationalism is heretical.

Levitical priesthood was replaced by the New Covenant priesthood, namely Jesus Himself as the High Priest. Now any ethnicity can be a priest for God. Not just Levites.

Animal sacrifices was replaced by the atonement of Jesus' blood, the final sacrifice for sins. The Gospel was paid for by this blood. Was it so insufficient that it requires additionally more yearly animal sacrifices? I think not.

The Temple was replaced by the church, who represent the living stones of a living Temple. This is where God's spirit dwells. And these are where God's chosen people are gathered. 1 Peter 2:5, 9-10

The Mosaic Covenant was the Old Heavens and Old Earth (Isaiah 51:15-16), Jesus created a whole new world order with a New Heavens and New Earth. Out with the Mosaic Covenant with its Jewish ethnocentric system, in with the New Covenant sans the Jewish ethnocentric system. The final Jewish Temple was melted by the Romans with a fervent heat and it is not in God's plan for it to ever rise again. The Jewish ethnocentric system of the Mosaic Covenant was intended by God to be temporal and would one day end. And it did end in AD 70.

I guess random person has perfect theology...first WoF is satanic heresy now this

How many times does the New Testament have to pound it over our heads, Jewish ethnicity has no bearing whatsoever at all anymore under the New Covenant economy.

It is valueless now, what matters is that one receive Jesus, both Jew and Gentile.

What is the malfunction or mental block are Christian Zionists and dispensationalists suffering from?

1 Peter 2:9-10

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Who is Peter addressing in 1 Peter 2:10? Jews or Gentiles?

Im not aware to much on the doctrines but I believe Israel is still Gods chosen nation and that replacement theology is error.

Looks like you are suffering a shortage or outage of some sorts. I ask again:

Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Who is Peter addressing in 1 Peter 2:10? Jews or Gentiles?

Well let me clue you in, weren't the Jews the people of God? And didn't the Jews obtain God's mercy for being the people of God?

Than who is Peter talking about in 1 Peter 2:10? It can't be the Jews, right? It must be the Gentiles namely the Church.

Mosaic Covenant = Thoroughly Jewish ethnocentric

New Covenant = Thoroughly not Jewish ethnocentric

. The church has not replaced Israel in God's plan. While God may be focusing His attention primarily on the church in this dispensation of grace, God has not forgotten Israel and will one day restore Israel to His intended role as the nation He has chosen (Romans 11).

love 1 peter 2:9-10...love showing it to catholics because it contradicts the idea of needing a priest to forgive us of our sins.

National Israel no longer has a role, the church has the primary role.

The Church age has no end (Ephesians 3:20-21).

Jesus is the root, Jews and Gentiles are the branches. Both Jews and Gentiles are now the Israel of God. They both are branches upon the SAME olive tree sharing the SAME root which is Jesus.

God is no longer ethnocentric towards the Jews. Mosaic covenant is over afterall.

EVERYONE MUST COME TO CHRIST IN ORDER TO BE ADDED TO THAT OLIVE TREE AND SHARE THAT SAME ROOT!

Paul, in a letter written primarily to Gentiles, explicitly states that God is not finished with Israel.Romans 11:12says that if Israel's rejection of Jesus is a blessing for the Gentiles, therestorationof Israel will be more so.Romans 11:25-26goes on to say, "Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, 'The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob'" (cf.Daniel 9:24). As the previous verses clearly delineate Jews and Gentiles, there is no way that this prophecy can be applied to the Church.

This is my personal belief but we are still brothers in Christ...we both worship the Triune God.
