I don't think they will go as far as making Korra more intensive - gotta have balance..

Saw this from one of my family members - quite amazing what they did with the animation....and how long it takes them to make the art they do:

It's cool knowing the theme of the season - which is "BALANCE" - and it'll be interesting to see how that is brought about.

Book4Balance-290x280.jpg

Also, here's another awesome review, especially considering the characters who may be potential enemies, with people still speculating it'll be a metal bender such as the one who was in focus earlier..

Legend Of Korra Season 4 Balance Trailer Footage Explained - YouTube
Legend of Korra l Book 4: EVIL or GOOD KUVIRA!? [Analysis + Theory] - YouTube

As another noted, Kuvira’s importance has been foreshadowed in the finale of Book 3 (and even earlier than that), with many people speculating her role in the next book and thinking that she’s Suyin’s & Zaheer’s lovechild. Although others feel that is too far-fetched, I do believe that there’s more to the story regarding Zaofu’s and the metalbenders’ ties with the Red Lotus ...

Just watched it.
It's pretty cool that they dared not to have that convenient happy ending where everyone stands around laughing at a really corny pun.
You'll be able to catch up soon with the ending in seeing how it'll develop. Specifically, Nickelodeon revealed that The Legend of Korra: Book Four is premiering on Nick.com and the Nick app starting Friday, October 3. (as in this year!) - so in two weeks, Korra returns ..

Thanks for the update on Book 4! I was expecting it would be a few months.

Not sure if I posted this but here is Ai Orikasa (voice of Ryoko) singing one her Tenchi themes, live in concert.

(I see an Ai Orikasa on Twitter but there's no reference to her voice over work so I'm not sure it's her)

Thanks for the video reference - I don't think you've posted on that before with Ai Orikasa or her concerts. Pretty amazing to see the voice behind the art - how did you come across it and do you know of others similar to her who did work in anime but did concerts later?

The entire Tenchi cast put on that concert. I believe the whole thing is on youtube. I think I stumbled on it looking for an interview with Ai Orikasa.

From what I understand concerts like that are/were fairly common in Japan, where as in the US, voice actors appear on convention panels (for which there are many, many youtube videos).

Cool to know.

On a side note, my cousin alerted me to an excellent anime that really stood out to me - as seen here in the following:

Great Teacher Onizuka Ep 23 - Superstition (Eng Subs) - YouTube

It's called GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka - the story of an ex Gang leader in the Japanese mob who wants to become the greatest teacher ever, with his struggles from the past impacting his teaching.

Are chain letters a thing in a Japan?

I think it's going to be tough to see Korra detached and dealing with PTSD.

I've also noticed other animated productions are being distributed on line as well, sometimes well in advance of the television distribution. I wonder if this is an expanding trend.

I'm curious as to why you asked that.

I think so as well...but how she resolves that is another issue entirely.

From what I know, it does seem to be the trend - especially in light of things like Net Flicks taking over..

History makes a difference - and one of the best places to go on the matter is Japan Anime & Christianity: Western Influences -Essortment Homes ....(Real) Christianity in Anime | Japesland/Christianity in Anime | Japesland and Eric's Prose Poems: Christology and Anime ...and others being Anime and the Misnomer of Christianity | - Beneath the Tangles

Also, as another well pointed out when it came to why certain things are as they are (for a brief excerpt):
What exactly is the connection between religion and these media formats? Firstly, I suppose we have to cover the bases and explain why Japan's fascination with Christianity is weird. If you consider that Christianity is a minority in this Asian country – often cited as 1% of the total population – wouldn't you start wondering why they are so taken up with this particular religion? Why does it feature in anime, either as part of apparel, the backdrop or even as part of the overall storyline? Well, there are a number of theories suggested by authors and anime fans in order to explain these inputs. Some believe that a religious ban by Tokugawa in 16th century might have contributed to Japanese folks not being in the know about the religion. This in turn would explain why there were few Christians in Japan. It would also explain, as is pointed out by Patrick Drazen in this article (a must-read if you are curious about depiction of religion in anime), why Japanese grasp of Christianity is limited to TV and media depictions and referrals. That would surely result in an entirely different take on something that was completely foreign to that land, right? That actually brings up the other theory. Many have noted that the view of Christianity in Japan is akin to other cultural depictions in Western media. The best comparison, noted amongst fans, was the portrayal of voodoo magic in Hollywood flicks which ends up as fancy little unknown art that has unlimited possibilities.

Thought of this recently and figured it'd be worth sharing here:

I like LOK, but I prefer TLAB because the bending was pure: very little extrapolated bending like lava, combustion, flight, etc. I liked TLAB when very rarely we see bloodbending, lightning bending, and metal/sand bending. The advanced bending was for masters like Bumi, Toph, Aang, Ozai, Katara, Hama, etc.

I also worry, as Korra seems so weak compared to Aang, and even Katara, and she can execute advanced bending. I will watch the book 4 trailer.

I can definitely understand that. However, I do appreciate their showing the way that societies can evolve and others can gradually learn to develop skills that used to not be common - with it being the case that seeing more of a skill does not necessarily make you a master at it, which is why I respected the use of blood-bending in Korra to make a VERY good end villian and the same as it concerns lavabending in the way it was not something all could do..

And the story lines are epic..

Haven't seen where Korra was at all weak compared to Aang or Katara. Neither of the latter went through half of the rapid changes in the world that she did nor handled it with the strength she has been forced to do so with....
