Rev 11:19 - And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and a great hailstorm.
Rev 15:8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power; and no one was able to enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels were finished.
John didn't see a temple in the New Jerusalem. However in heaven right now there is a temple where Christ is finishing His work.
Obviously some still are not getting the message:
John 2:21
But he spake of the
temple of
his body.
Did that temple go to heaven?
Uh, yeah.
Revelation 21:22
And
I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and
the Lamb are the temple of it.
ALSO, while we are on the subject, twas no mere ark in the desert with the Israelites that came out of Egypt:
Acts 7:

Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as he had appointed, speaking unto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seen.
45 Which also our fathers that came after
brought in with Jesus
There are some basic RULZ that good theology students have to stick to in order to not wander astray in strange understandings...and really, it's
only ONE RULE/ONE RULER.
John 5:39
Search
the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which
testify of me.
IF anyone has any difficulty understanding any scripture, they simply have to refer to The Author Himself and things instantly clear up, considerably.
People who see 4 walls and a roof temples are locked out from understanding Rev. out the gate because they do not SEE HIM as THE TEMPLE, even though it's right there to see.
Obviously there are more interesting sights to be had with all of those interesting matters from there...you know, all that SMOKE and stuff coming out of the TEMPLE....
Psalm 18:
6 In my distress I called upon
the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.
7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
When entering into spiritual understandings, other doors will open from Above. In trying to pin Jesus down in strict literal terms, those doors remain LOCKED, and rightfully so. For those who see, they will be steered away from false understandings and false teachers.
