It's not that I don't believe God can forgive all sins...My doubt is whether he/she really gave there life to the Lord....even when spoken out loud and the Word of God says test those spirits.....If they proclaim Jesus than they are saved....So I have to go by what the Word of God says.....Like I said instead of running away from your fear which only keeps it at it's size face it. With all possibilities that we all may be out of our minds but choose by our actions to live for God. Not feelings.

We just can't know I've had Chaplains say I don't know if they can be forgiven.

We ourselves, cannot know the state of forgiveness or salvation of another person. That is something only God truly knows.

We can tell a righteous man from an unrighteous man by the fruits of one's works, however.

But, as was already mentioned:

God forgave Moses, and the Apostle Paul. Both were guilty of murder, and other sins.

The Apostle Paul vehemently persecuted the young church, yet Paul was still the writer of most of the New Testament.

God can, and has before, forgiven those of murder, blasphemy, and many other ill begotten sins. He is not incapable of pardoning one's sins, regardless of what it may be.

Don't believe. God forgives all sins.

I personally think a sin worse than pedophilia is infanticide. I believe the Lord forgives people who have murdered their own unborn children…. and I have personally known too many pedophiles. I pray God forgives them too.

When Christ prayed on the cross "Father forgive them", His tormentors, those that would spit upon Him and crucify Him…. I think its pretty clear He is able to forgive us all. As for pedophiles, if they won't stop what their doing, they will be judged for what they have done, God is not mocked. You can't ask for forgiveness and keep on killing or hurting others with impunity.
If someone is caught in a sin that hurts others, they must do everything you can to stop that sin, which would include confessing it and turning yourself in to the authorities to protect those that could be hurt…. that would be part of repenting, turning away. Many pedophiles go to church, one bc they believe they will be forgiven but also bc there is easy access to children and trusting parents; believing no one in the church would do such a despicable thing.
….I've known people who would not go to church bc they were abused in the church during Sunday school…. it would be better that a millstone be hung around that pedophiles neck...

Raven, you just have to decide if you're going to accept what God's Word teaches, or reject it.

David committed murder, yet was forgiven. And (what someone else already posted) 1 John 1:9 clearly states ALL sin can be forgiven.

So, again, it's up to you - trust your own opinion, or trust what God has said.

For Raven it's a lot more complicated than just saying trust God.....The disorder of OCD is exactly what this is and I have told her many times that you have to stop giving into the fear. To all of you, would you say I am wrong for telling raven to not believe in Jesus but live as tho you do?.....Once you turn the tables on this most complicated form of PURE O OCD Then you start gaining traction to where doubt and anxiety doesn't set your brain off to where good is bad and bad is good. Now I know Jesus is Lord but, take it from a person that has dealt with this type of disorder. reassurance only fuels the disorder and that's what she has to learn is to let go of the fear.

See I wasn't aware that raven deals with OCD or OCD symptoms. In which case, I do agree with you, that the way to reckon with this, probably isn't the methods we all have suggested thus far.

this is VERY important and good you posted it.

I see no where in scripture that God forgives unrepentant sin ..

one must come in humility ,admit guilt (i say admit in modern English because he already knows about it )and desire to have never had done it (have regret)
if they do so and place their faith in Jesus then ..by faith ,

the lord Jesus is taken ..and that sin is laid upon him and then that murderer that child molester ,that what ever .is taken ... he is mocked ,spat upon, has his beard plucked out ,is flogged with whips ,has thorns rammed into his scalp,is beaten ,bruised .tormented ..he his then made to carry large hunks of wood on his shoulder and paraded through the streets in utter sham,e and misery for his action ..he is then slammed like a limp piece of beaten meat on a wood cross and metal spikes are driven through his feet and wrists pinning him to the wood upon which he is then lifted up to hang in agonizing terror and left to die ..

and the father forgives the one who sinned ...
forgive us our sins ..as we forgive those who sin against us .

i am of the opinion that those who struggle with whether god forgives sins ..are , perhaps, really not struggling with GODs willingness to forgive at all .. but their own unwillingness to forgive those who have deeply offended them ..
God understands this also and will help if you ask .for Jesus said" what so ever you ask in my name according to my will ,i wil do it ."

obsessive compulsive disorder ocd.
in Christianity we give certain Good behavioral attributes the title "fruits of the Spirit .. ..(for this topic ..self control)

then when the world says ...the opposite activities are caused by this and that brain malfunctions chemical imbalance what ever ,,we nod our head as though they are all wise or something ..they are not -the closest they have to correct is that it is a disorder .but it is a spiritual disorder ..

consider this , when we stand back and look at it ,what do we see ?the opposite of the fruit of the HOLY SPIRIT .. which means for me ,from a chrsitian perspective ..it is the manifestation of the fruits of an unholyspirit .
the evidence screams at us .

the erratic behavior
the bondage to the behavior
the lack of peace
the absolute lack of self control
the torment
etc

the old english would use the wording .. vexed by an evil spirit .
king saul showed signs of it and it is written that he was vexed bu and evil spirit -some of his beahvior was violently eratic ..unless you think trying to pin david to the wall with a spear at dinner is normal .

sounds like vomiting out a prayer…. ????

God forgive us if we have to discern before we pray for someone who obviously is suffering…. I wish the church would erupt into continuous prayer….

Instead of me fearing that I have committed blasphemy people say that I must have a demon......Raven is always on the OCD forum....Why? I don't know? But I myself have dealt with many different themes of OCD thru out my life....Sometimes I look and see ya maybe it was a demon that was attacking me but, now that I know my election is secure people want to throw mud at me and say I must have a demon because they do not understand........I have come a long way from where I was six years ago but, still have issues......I do however believe that when we give up on the world for answers that's when we turn to God and repent...
