congrats on a post (in another thread) that was not a complaint abuot preterism; the first I've seen.

So why did Caiaphas think he could save Israel by the execution of Jesus? Or is that question also "gibberish"? You did read the example of gibberish, didn't you? Back quite a few posts now.

Rat, here is another ex. of gibberish:
he epigraphe tes aitias auto epigegrpammene, ho basileus

Actually it's a greek line, but you get the point. It is gibberish in English.

Asking a question about Jn 11: 49-52 and how Caiaphas could have saved Israel in the 1st century is not gibberish, OK? Do you get it?

ner, compliments are welcome. Keep them coming.
I am not interested if or why Caiaphas thought he could save Israel by executing Jesus.
I did not read your gibberish that you refer to as it was too confusing to bother with.
Have you learned the definition of preterism yet?

That post was the only constructive contribution I've ever seen from you. You're always reacting instead of pro-acting. And reacting is really annoying because you're a void.

Do you even know what Dan 9 is about? does it matter to you that Caiaphas was trying to 'preclude' it from happening? Can you see why he would want to--to prevent 1st century Israel from slaughter? Do you have any real interestes other than in putting people down on the i.net because there are no consequences and no one knows who you are while you get the exhiliaration of putting them down?

Now I am a "void". I can add that to all the other names that you have called me.
I will say again that Caiaphas does not matter to me. Why can't you understand that? You continue to beat a dead horse.
Have you found "preterism" in your Bible dictionary?

For me, I try to understand the prophecies to put them all together into a start to finish scenario where everything fits together. That's the objective for me.

Doug

After all this we still don't have a valid coherent core base start date for eschatology? Ie, finishing with a more of a puzzle of complexity than we started with?

Lord help us,

Jack

Or is it Doug to the rescue?

So Rat, I understand you are here to complain rather than learn anything about Dan 9. So this is it buddy. I won't be responding any further, because I don't know why you are here, and you don't either, or you would have said something about Caiaphas (or Josephus) understanding of Dan 9.

A Bible dictionary would not have 'preterism' while it would have 'Theophilus' because preterism is not a term used in the Bible. You meant theological dictionary, but you are not here to learn. You are here to make meaningless counterposts; I have counted 2 posts where you actually revealed your own belief or conclusion with a reason, and 500 where you merely slammed something you didn't like, usually as "ugly" which is also not in either a Bible or theological dictionary.

Good luck.

Your posts here reveal that what you understand is usually wrong.
I am not interested is what you think about Dan 9. Is that a crime?
You think everything here has to be done on your terms. Well it isn't.
I am impressed that you have read all my posts. They must be interesting to you.
Thanks for not responding to me in the future.

Dan.9:24a has contains an obvious start core base, ie, "to restrain the transgression and to seal up sin and to make atonement for iniquity;...." All points to the 1st Coming of Christ. Things to be removed.

Dan.9:24b has contains an obvious ending core base, ie, ".....to bring in everlasting righteousness and to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy." All points to the 2nd Coming of Christ. Things to be attained.

The seventy heptads, interpreted symboically, actually cover from the days of Daniel to the end of time.

Walk in the park,

Jack

Can't copy that Jack.

"To bring in everlasting righteousness" Check Rom 3. "Now the righteousness of God is revealed..." in the Gospel of justification.

"To seal up..." = to fulfill. There are examples of this in Daniel, if you want to compare. Exs. that are in the concrete meaning of come to pass.

"To anoint the most holy place" It's Hebrews, Jack. It's right there. Past tense. Gospel.

The 7 accomplishments of Messiah happen in the unusual 70th week. He gets that accomplished through his death, while the anti-messiah devastates the city and the temple through his arrogance and irreverence. Full contrast.

Hey, maybe you're correct, ie, let's look at this again:

Dan.9:24b, "...to bring in everlasting righteousness..." This is without a doubt the imputed righteousness which is not naturally to be found among men, and so God must "bring in." This righteousness,or the Messiah who accomplishes it, was the treasure above all treasures taht was most eagerly longed for by the O.T. saints. Again, cannot accept your refute, ie, 1st Coming of Jesus.

"To seal up..." = to fulfill. There are examples of this in Daniel, if you want to compare. Exs. that are in the concrete meaning of come to pass.

"to seal up vision and prophecy" follows. The objective is the same as that employed earier, ie 2nd statement of teh 1st Triad, ie, to dispose summarily and finally of a thing that deserves to be relegated to the category of achieved things.

"To anoint the most holy place" It's Hebrews, Jack. It's right there. Past tense. Gospel.

"and to anoint teh Most Holy." Anointing - the verb is mashach involves consecration where the gifts of the Spirit, which are symbolized by the oll, are being imparted. The most holy with the ark of the covenant typified the Throne of God and so God's dwelling amontg His people. That which was prefigured gy the symbol and realized in a measure in the old covenant, that is here referred to as about to come to a perfect realization.

The 7 accomplishments of Messiah happen in the unusual 70th week. He gets that accomplished through his death, while the anti-messiah devastates the city and the temple through his arrogance and irreverence. Full contrast.

In these six statements we have the sum of all the good things that God promised to men perfectly realized.

Agreeing to disagree,

Jack
