Lord, hear this individual and send protection to those in the areas where the tornado warnings were issued. Let the tornadoes not touch ground and let the storm dissipate. I pray for this, in Jesus name, Amen.

They have updated the severe weather treat. We are now under a 45% chance of severe weather and we are in the hatched area which means a significant threat. Things could get very very bad tomorrow.

Here is the National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center outlook:

Storm Prediction Center Nov 16, 2013 0700 UTC Day 2 Convective Outlook

Again, hover over probabilistic to see the probability of severe weather. We are also now upgraded to a moderate risk of severe weather when previously it was a slight risk.

I am really scared. I am trying hard to trust in God but it is rather difficult because I went through a tornado when I was 7 years old. It didn't touch our house, thanks be to God, but it did destroy half of our town. It was an F4 tornado and I saw the damage afterwards. I have been terrified of severe weather ever since.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, while on earth You calmed a storm while in a boat with your disciples who were lacking in faith and trust in You. You calmed the storm with a simple command proving that You are indeed the Son of God, the third Person of the Most Holy Trinity, and God Himself. Dear Lord, I am trying to trust in You but because of my past experience with severe weather, I am very afraid of the severe weather that is forecast. However, I know that you have saved my life numerous times in the past and many of those events seemed to be miraculous to me. Therefore, I have reason to trust in You. Dear Lord, please grant that the storms on Sunday would not be too severe. Please especially protect us from tornadoes which are often more damaging than damaging winds. However, please also protect us from damaging winds since that is the primary threat. Please grant that all people would be made aware of this forecast so that they can prepare beforehand. Please grant that all people would have a safe and sturdy shelter to go to just in case it gets bad. Please grant wisdom and good knowledge to all of the meteorologists, storm spotters, and other professionals who are working to keep us safe. Please protect them and please do the same for all other emergency personnel such as police officers and emergency medical technicians who may need to help those who might get injured in this storm. Help us to realize that no matter what happens, all things work together for the good of those who love You. Dear Lord, please also grant that Sunday would be cloudy and rainy so that way the sun will not shine and destabilize the atmosphere. The meteorologists say that this needs to happen because if the sun shines then the atmosphere will be more unstable and will further increase the risk of severe weather. We ask this of You dear Lord, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

The latest updates that I have seen are talking about a Tornado Outbreak with mostly isolated tornadoes (which would probably be in super-cells ahead of the squall line we're supposed to get.) but some of these tornadoes could be strong tornadoes. For those of you who don't know much about tornadoes, there is the Enhanced Fujita Scale. It goes from EF0 to EF5. An EF0 is the weakest a tornado can be and an EF5 is the strongest. Back in 1990 they have the Fujita Scale (not the enhanced one) and an F4 tornado hit my town. That is the second strongest tornado possible.

Anyway, here is the Outlook from the Storm Prediction Center. as you can see, all of Indiana is in the 45% and hatched area. The 45% means a 45% probability of severe storms which is quite high. The hatched area means "significant risk". They also have us under a moderate risk of severe weather.

Storm Prediction Center Nov 16, 2013 1730 UTC Day 2 Convective Outlook

Here is The Weather Channel's page about the severe weather event:

Severe Thunderstorm Outbreak: Widespread Damaging Winds and Some Tornadoes Expected Sunday - weather.com

And here is there Tornado Condition Index, also known as TOR:CON:

TWC's Exclusive TOR:CON Index - weather.com

The TOR:CON has been upgraded to a 6 for Indiana. This means that they think there is a 60% chance of tornadoes. That is a very high value for the TOR:CON scale and I cannot remember the last time it got that high for my area.

And finally, this is the Hazardous Weather Outlook from the National Weather Service office in Paducah, Kentucky:

National Weather Service Watch Warning Advisory Summary

As you can see, they mention isolated tornadoes and damaging winds. A page on Facebook called Indiana Weather Online says the damaging winds could be up to 80 mph which is very strong and could cause significant damage. Winds only have to be 60 mph in a storm for it to be considered severe and damaging.

So anyway, there is my update about the weather. I'd greatly appreciate further prayers. The situation just seems to be getting worse and worse and I'll be honest, I am very nervous. I am trying hard to trust in God but I have always paid attention to severe weather events and the way everyone is talking and such, this one could get very very bad.

Here's a good blog post from Ohio Valley Weather Net about the severe weather threat. They have a couple of posts on it:

Ohio Valley Weather Net

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen.

May God rebuke him we humbly pray and do thou oh Prince of the Heavenly Host by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Oh glorious apostle St. Jude, faithful servant and friend of Jesus, the name of the traitor who delivered thy beloved Master into the hands of His enemies has caused thee to be forgotten by many, but the Church honors and invokes thee universally as the patron of hopeless cases--of things despaired of. Pray for me who am so miserable; make use, I implore thee, of that particular privilege accorded thee of bringing visible and speedy help where help is almost despaired of. Come to my assistance in this great need, that I may receive the consolations and succor of heaven in all my necessities, tribulations and sufferings, particularly for protection from severe storms and especially tornadoes on Sunday, and that I may bless God with thee and all the elect throughout eternity. I promise thee, O blessed St. Jude, to be ever mindful of this great favor, and I will never cease to honor thee as my special and powerful patron, and to do all in my power to encourage devotion to thee. Amen

O Holy St. Anthony, reach down from heaven and take hold of my hand. Assure me that I am not alone. You are known to possess miraculous powers and to be ever ready to speak for those in trouble.

Loving and Gentle St. Anthony, reach down from heaven, I implore you and assist me in my hour of need. Obtain for me protection from the severe storms and especially tornadoes we could have on Sunday.

Dearest St. Anthony, reach down from heaven and guide me with thy strength. Plead for me in my needs. And teach me to be humbly thankful as you were for all the bountiful lessons I am to receive. Amen

O Holy Patroness of those in need, St. Rita, whose pleadings before thy Divine Lord are almost irresistible, who for thy lavishness in granting favors hast been called the advocate of the hopeless and even of the impossible; St. Rita so humble, so pure, so mortified, so patient and of such compassionate love for thy Crucified Jesus that thou couldst obtain from him whatsoever thou askest, on account of which all confidently have recourse to thee, expecting, if not always relief, at least comfort; be propitious to our petition, showing thy power with God on behalf of the suppliant; be lavish to us as thou hast been in so many wonderful cases, for the greater glory of God, for the spreading of thine own devotion, and for the consolation of those who trust in thee.

We promise, if our petition is granted, to glorify, thee by making known thy favor, to bless and sing thy praises forever. Relying upon thy merits and power before the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we ask you to please grant us protection from the severe storms and especially tornadoes that we could get tomorrow. Amen.
