Sacerdote,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. However I have an issue with the music that is called Christian music. Some of the music sounds so much like the world's music. We are to be separate from the things of the world. When I hear certain Christian music I get irritated where I do not want to listen to it. However this is my thought.

Visionary,

Which vine are you referring to? The worldly vine or the Jesus Vine?

Eg...Pope Francis has written a long, open letter to the founder of La Repubblica newspaper, Eugenio Scalfari, stating that non-believers would be forgiven by God if they followed their consciences. Mr Scalfari said the Pope’s comments were “further evidence of his ability and desire to overcome barriers in dialogue with all”. In July, Francis signalled a more progressive attitude on sexuality, asking: “If someone is gay and is looking for the Lord, who am I to judge him?”

Follow ones conscious would get one in trouble I would think. What happened to following Jesus?

I do believe that God has opened the door for those who are sinning, such as same sex, to come to Him and repent. But probably not to the mindset the Pope has.

We are forgiven of all sins if one were to come to Yeshua and repent. But to be accepted into the church as it is okay to live in sin such as same sex I would say no.

I agree with you. Some of it does sound quite worldly. I have quite a bit though that I like. They are generally tunes that sound like ballads, love songs, or ones that are very reverential to the Lord. It's good to examine and scrutinize one's behavior. It tunes us up so to speak like guitar strings. Does this make sense?

Faithfully,
CH Sacerdote

Dena,

Rob Bell is one of the people in the Emergent church, yes. And his teachings are debatable and very controversial.

Moriah Ruth

I am aware. I do personally think his version of Christianity makes more sense than any other. I watched a documentary the other day about hell that featured some other emergent types. It was fairly interesting even though they didn't speak to any Jews on the topic.
