It's definitely a precaution for disaster relief. Remember Hurricane Sandy was last October, so I'm sure they want to be ready before another disaster, natural or otherwise.

October 1st is the start of the fiscal year, so don't be worried about that particular date. FEMA probably wants orders for this year fulfilled before the start of the next fiscal year.

But there are definitely trying times ahead for the US, especially as we wage another war, now in Syria. Russia and Iran aren't happy. We should all know that we are funding al-Qaeda in Syria to topple Assad's government; there are no "good guys" and "bad guys" in this, just more war.

I do think God is bringing judgment on this country for our war agenda, greed economy, widespread acceptance of abortion, and neglect/rejection of Jesus Christ in schools, etc.

Anyway, here are the orders for Region III:

Sent: Tuesday, August 13, 2013 6:43 AM

$14.2 million in MREs and heater meals to be delivered to Region III by October 1st.
22 million pouches of emergency water to be delivered to Region III by October 1st.
$11 million in antibiotics to be delivered to Region III by October 1st.[/COLOR]

This is an interesting question, but what is it doing in the Eschatology sub-forum?

I think anything related to FEMA has a place in end-times discussion. After all, these camps are where they'll be rounding up all the non-conformists.

I can't upload links because I don't have enough posts yet but there is some buzz out there about homelessness being outlawed in Columbia, South Carolina and they are beginning to round them up. They're calling it an "off-site homeless shelter" right now. I suspect that homeless people are just the beginning. Anyone that is deemed detrimental to society is probably going to be gathered as well. Oh yeah, aren't Christians going to be declared mentally ill soon, if we haven't already? I heard that we're top on the terror list now. Yep, they'll be coming for the Christians next.

Hi all

Well, it is certainly a terrible shame that there are people of wealth who live in this country that feel the power of their money should give them the freedom to not see the sadness that is homelessness and other signs of poverty that so many live in every day. Probably another one of the reasons that God's word says that the love of money is the root of all sorts of evil.

But, it is also a sure fulfillment of the prophecies of Paul as to the state of men's hearts as we approach the last days. Jesus full well told us, through his disciples, that the poor we would have with us always. I believe a very, very good sign of a godly heart is how one deals with this issue of those poor that we will have with us always. Does one, try to put them 'out of sight and out of mind' or does one 'have compassion on the least of these'.

But we also must understand that this is the 'way of the world'. This attitude against homelessness and poverty must be completely different between those who are born again children of God and those who have set themselves on the throne of their lives.

The city governments will do what they will do and nowhere do the Scriptures show us that we are held responsible for what the governments of the world do. We are held responsible for what we, individually do. Nowhere do the Scriptures hold out for us any hope that there will ever be any government of men, be it town, city, county, state or national, that is godly in it's structure or intent.

God bless you.

America isn't all there is to prophecy. Folks need to see Christianity beyond America...and especially anything FEMA is doing...this is almost hilarious.

This is and example of Christian failure in America...the failure to be the salt and light Christ calls us to.

We should all examine ourselves in our "American Christianity" because the real things that matter to Jesus don't matter with many of us and our churches.

We all have to do better...and FEMA's activity IS NOTHING prophetic.

Hi ebedmelech,

My post wasn't actually addressing the FEMA issue. I was addressing the links that were posted about how the homeless were being treated in Columbia, SC.

However, here's what Paul wrote of the hearts of men:

The wrath of Godhttp://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-41 is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-42 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made,http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-43 so that men are without excuse.http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-44 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-45 Although they claimed to be wise, they became foolshttp://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-46 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for imageshttp://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-47 made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles. Therefore God gave them overhttp://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-48 in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-49 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie,http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-50 and worshiped and served created thingshttp://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-51 rather than the Creator--who is forever praised.http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-52 Amen.http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-53 26 Because of this, God gave them overhttp://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-54 to shameful lusts.http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-55 Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-56 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-57 Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them overhttp://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-58 to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips,http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-59 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-60 they are senseless, faithless, heartless,http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-61 ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death,http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-62 they not only continue to do these very things but also approvehttp://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-63 of those who practice them.

Now when I read these links concerning what FEMA is doing and what other governmental entities are doing and just what people in general are doing in the world today I find a perfect fit with this claim that Paul has made. That mankind has become and is every day becoming filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips,http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-59 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents;http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-60 they are senseless, faithless, heartless,http://www.biblestudytools.com/romans/1.html#cr-descriptionAnchor-61 ruthless.

Now one can surely say, "Well, that's not a prophecy but how people acted in that day", and I would be in complete agreement. However, I also see that that attitude of men is coming over more and more people as we progress to the end of this realm. So, it becomes not only a statement of fact for the day in which it was written, but also a statement of the future attitude of mankind.

Can anyone really deny that man is more wicked today than then? The holocaust of Germany, in it's shear numbers of murdered people and the way of their murdering has nothing in the past which comes even close. The death and destruction wrought by the WTC attack has nothing that comes close to it's enormity in the past. Evil? How can anyone who understands what evil is even consider that mankind, as a whole, is not more evil today than then? Greedy? We are a nation built and supported by a system of greed. The daily scrabble for more and more personal possessions and money. And that same attitude is apparent in many other nations as well. Gossips, slanderers? One can't hardly turn on day time TV and not see that gossip and slander are the norm for our society and also many others.

So no, I am not basing my assessment on just how the people of a nation upon the earth, called the United States, is behaving in it's moral attitudes, but many, many other nations as well.

Right now Syria is being accused of slaughtering thousands of it's own people. Similar accusations were leveled against Hussein. The WTC attacks, while carried out on our soil, were not the plans of some group of Americans, but the plans of our enemies from other nations who were sent here to do their work. While there are certainly groups who believe and try to push some agenda that our own government was behind that attack and the Boston bombing and the Sandy Hook school shooting, that's just another evidence of the evil of men.

God bless you.
In Christ, Ted

Thanks for the response Ted. However I don't consider anything happening today when it comes to wars and confilicts to be anything but that which Jesus said in Matthew 24 before he even spoke to the destruction of Jerusalem.

Matthew 24:4-9 refers to events throughout history. Jesus even says in verse 8 "the end is not yet".

This is what we have been seeing throughout history.

Jesus gets specific to Jerusalem starting at Matthew 24:15!

These things going on right now in Syria and Egypt are nothing in the prophetic scheme of things. Just as every war that has been, they only confirm there will be wars and rumors of wars as Jesus said.

Jesus is ruling and reigning right now. He has control of these things.
