I have to wonder why people here don't acknowledge these scriptures in regard to being able to know God's word and will?

Psalm 143:10 ESV
Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!

Luke 12:12 ESV
for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say."

John 14:26 ESV
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

1 John 3:24 NIV
18 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth. 19 By this we shall know that we are of the truth and reassure our heart before him; 20 for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything. 21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; 22 and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him. 23 And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us. 24Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him. And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.

Romans 8:5-11(ESV)
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. 7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. 8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you.Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

Why the focus on eastern verses western when you should be focuing on living a life in the Spirit? Does not the Spirit that dwells in you lead you into all his ways? We do not wander on the waves of mens opinions throughout the ages, we have the living God dwelling within us! We are not in the flesh that we should fail the word of God, we are in the Spirit and the Word of God lives within us!

No.. I was not sarcastic, I was truthful. I have known you since you were carrying the MJ icon. .. sided with Catholic/Anglican traditions.. became a catholic icon carrier... and now are back here posting "spirit filled living". I stated we have watched where the "spirit" has lead you.

Well thank you! I am very sorry to have misconstrued your intent. Please, forgive me! I guess I have more friends here than I imagined. My confusion came by the " " undercase s usage.

BTW, i've been a MJ icon holder here since the beginning. I have never held nor do I know why I would ever hold a catholic icon. I am a born Jew who has never embraced mainstream Church ever, outside of a year spending time in a vineyard congregation trying to embrace that form of Christianity. That's the only Christian group i've ever spent time with. A 'Spirit' focused denom. lol

Again, very sorry to have misunderstood your complement to me. My bad, big time.

Because those who focus mainly on these scriptures tend to have a perverted view of scripture. "The spirit" always ends up leading them right where they always wanted to go. I'd go so far as to say it looks more like they lead "the spirit" ...

But believe what you want. "People here" used to acknowledge all scripture, including the ones you quote. Not so much any more, though; keep trying, you may get your wish and make this a dispensational forum after all. Congratulations.

So your implying I have a perverted view of scripture? And that I'm really only letting the Spirit lead me where I want to go? Your saying people here now only acknowledge part of scripture? And you think I want to personally make this forum a dispensational based forum? Do I understand your accusations correctly?

So your opposed to focusing on the Spirit dwelling within you? Do you even believe in the indwelling of the Spirit and how scripture defines it's funtion within you?

After 4000 years of reading different portions throughout the year, they [those who decide what portion] came up with a combination that fits in well with the time, seasons, and appointed times. It works, it is comfortable, and it makes the Torah portion make the most sense. Tweaking is still allowed, as it is not in concrete.

The attacks don't really seem necessary in regards to what you were responding to - and truthfully, in all of the claims of "defending the forum", it seems that much of it is violated whenever insinuations are made such as those you have to keep responding to whenever you make a general post on God's Word.

I'd simply ignore it - or report it if it continues.
