Canard #1: It wasn't designed to work. (never mind because of AHA we are seeing premiums coming down).

That explains why Individual Market Premiums are going up by 88% in Ohio...

Democrats continue to try to dismiss the evidence that Obamacare will dramatically increase the cost of insurance for people who buy it on their own. But on Thursday, the Ohio Department of Insurance announced that, based on the rates submitted by insurers to date, the average individual-market health insurance premium in 2014 will come in around $420, “representing an increase of 88 percent” relative to 2013. “We have warned of these increases,” said Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor in a statement. “Consumers will have fewer choices and pay much higher premiums for their health insurance starting in 2014.”
Ohio Dept. Of Insurance: Obamacare To Increase Individual-Market Health Premiums By 88 Percent - Forbes

Canard #2: It was about seizing power: (the only power seized was one where Insurers rightly had to change the way they denied or kicked people off coverage.)

Instead of a doctor determining treatment for Americans it will be done by the Obamacare Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute. Along with the health secretary, it will determine whether or not a treatment is “cost effective” in extending life for the elderly, disabled, or terminally ill.

The Research Institute purposes are described as a way to carry out “comparative clinical effectiveness research” that is defined as evaluating and comparing “health outcomes” and “clinical effectiveness”-- risks and benefits of two or more medical treatment or services. Obamacare originally allotted $1.1 billion for the Research Institute and now allows for about $3.8 billion in additional funding.

Got news for you JoyJuice, some treatments are more effective for some people than others, it's why doctors and patients should be making the decisions not some partisan quack that isn't even a doctor whom sits in Washington DC.

Canard #3: If it had been designed to actually work, they wouldn't have had to pull all those shenanigans to get it rammed through. (Never mind the goal from day one the GOP was going to obstruct every piece of legislation of Obama.)

No, they pulled the shannigans because Scott Brown got elected in a special election instead of another Democrat otherwise Obamacare would never have been able to have been signed by Obama.

The faults with Obamacare is 100% the responsibility of Obama and the Democrat Party, it is extremely dishonest to try to pin the blame on Republicans.

Canard #4: hey also would have READ THE BILL (never mind the gist of the bill has been read seeing it has been around ever since 2003 and constantly tweaked up until it passed)

If you refer to the disaster known as Romneycare, that only worked because it had been getting Federal funding; that's even a laughable association.

Romneycare wasn't even remotely near 200 pages long, let alone over 2000 pages...

Seriously JoyJuice, stop drinking the koolaid.

Obamacare to make rates soar, state says in analysis attacked as deeply flawed
Washington -- Ohio’s insurance regulators are warning that some health policy premiums may skyrocket next year because of the Affordable Care Act. But insurance experts and advocates for more comprehensive coverage counter that the Ohio Department of Insurance used confusing and misleading information to arrive at that conclusion. They say the department’s data make it impossible to even tell the price of actual premiums for Ohioans.

LOL, the "Death Panel" Politifact lie of the year.

Considering the number of new regulations that insurance companies among others will have to deal with in the healthcare industy is somehow going to have less financial costs to deal with is rather laughable, but then I've noticed a lot of media outlets have put partisanship over credibility these last 6 years.

November 1, 2011 — Physicians have gotten a few laughs from the new and voluminous set of diagnostic codes known as ICD-10, which distinguishes between being struck by a duck (W6162XA) and being bitten by a duck (W6161XA).

A new study by the healthcare research firm KLAS, however, suggests that physicians and other providers need to take ICD-10, more seriously. Only 9% of providers are more than halfway through the needed preparations to switch from the ICD-9 code set to the new one by the federal deadline of October 1, 2013. The rest, said study author Graham Triggs, are still in the early stage of doing their homework.

LOL, the "Death Panel" Politifact lie of the year.

If you did your research, you'd find politifact is not as truthful as you'd like to believe.

From the New York Times:
WE need death panels.

Well, maybe not death panels, exactly, but unless we start allocating health care resources more prudently — rationing, by its proper name — the exploding cost of Medicare will swamp the federal budget.

But in the pantheon of toxic issues — the famous “third rails” of American politics — none stands taller than overtly acknowledging that elderly Americans are not entitled to every conceivable medical procedure or pharmaceutical.

Most notably, President Obama’s estimable Affordable Care Act regrettably includes severe restrictions on any reduction in Medicare services or increase in fees to beneficiaries. In 2009, Sarah Palin’s rant about death panels even forced elimination from the bill of a provision to offer end-of-life consultations.

Wouldn't matter if the Dem or Brown won, the vote still would have been for the ACA.

Nope, if Scott Brown was able to have a say in this Obamacare would never have passed due to the fillabuster rules in the United States Senate, especially since he partially won the seat campaigning AGAINST Obamacare.

No doubt they are fault for implementation a plan that is essentially has been long the idea of conservatives.

Really?

Let me put regulations on the money in your bank account. I assure you I can find many ways of regulating your money so that you actually spend less.

Do you want to try it and see?

Besides repealing ACA 27 times, have the Republicans ever presented an alternative? And not vague, simple-minded platitudes like "less regulation," and "more competition." Something coherent, thought-out, and in some detail. Even just on one single point--how high risk persons who aren't eligible for employer group plans can obtain affordable health coverage.

I'm from Missouri. Show me what you've got. If you can't, or won't, then you're worthless.

Absolutely irrelevant to your claim of premiums up in Ohio which was faulty, along with the known premiums reduced in other states.

Actually it is entirely relevant because it casts doubt on your article's credibility, and thus undermines your claim that the initial analysis concerning premiums in Ohio were faulty...

I suggest you re-read the argument. It is for something not in AHA.

Actually it is in Obamacare...

I am specifically talking about IPAB! (Note source of info for this definition) The Independent Payment Advisory Board, or IPAB, is a fifteen-member United States Government agency created in 2010 by sections 3403 and 10320 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (OBAMACARE) which has the explicit task of achieving specified savings in Medicare without affecting coverage or quality.[1] Under previous and current law, changes to Medicare payment rates and program rules are recommended by MedPAC but require an act of Congress to take effect. The new system grants IPAB the authority to make changes to the Medicare program with the Congress being given the power to overrule the agency’s decisions through supermajority vote.

Independent Payment Advisory Board - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

IPAB was created with its ostensible purpose to “control costs.” In reality, it will do nothing at all about costs. Instead, the board’s fifteen “experts” will impose old-fashioned price controls. Before Obamacare was signed into law in March of 2010, only Congress had the power to make changes to Medicare’s reimbursement rates. But PPACA, for all intents and purposes, transfers that power to this tiny cadre of presidential appointees who will have no accountability to the voters. In theory, IPAB can only propose changes to Medicare’s payment rates. In practice, however, the board’s proposals will take effect automatically unless Congress passes contrary legislation and the President signs it into law.

Death panels exist and are essential to the success of OBAMACARE | Bradley County News

The fact that they don't choose to call it a death panel, doesn't change the fact that it functionally is a death panel.

Sorry, I don't do arguments via YouTube. Never bothered to open it and besides, I understand Krugman an economist, but not a a cosponsor of AHA.

I usually take Youtube videos with a grain of salt, but I'm more concerned about creative editting, which at first glance there doesn't seem to be any creative editting.

HERE, this is Krugman's Opinion piece in full context. I suggest you read it rather then YouTube.

If he's caught on tape admitting to something that contradicts his opinion piece, then the tape arguably takes precidence over his opinion piece.

Conservatives did away with that idea after thinking through the rammifications of government forcing people to buy a product simply because said individual has a heartbeat was government overreach and unconstitutional. They never lost their minds, Democrats were the ones that went off the deep end.

If Americans knew the truth, the opposition to Obamacare would be even larger than it already is, but then maybe that's why Paul Krugman was worried about getting in trouble:
Why do you think you are so fantastic—indeed supernaturally so—at reading the minds of others. Your skills would be supernatural under any circumstances. As a proud autistic American you ought to know you cannot read the minds of others. And you ought to know that is a bad idea to make assumptions about what you thought others meant when they said or did something.

So unless you have a quote of Krugman being asked if he is in favor of "death panels," and he replies, "Yes, I am in favor of death panels," then you are only fooling yourself.

Indeed the charge is funny. It is funny because it is so stupid.

Right, a study found to be using faulty numbers "casts doubt" on real events. Are you listening to yourself?
Actually it is in Obamacare...
If it's in Obamacare, why in the world is the article YOU sourced by Steven Rattner arguing for something you claim the AHA already has?

Again, it is not the lie of the year for nothing.

I usually take Youtube videos with a grain of salt, but I'm more concerned about creative editting, which at first glance there doesn't seem to be any creative editting.

Context is everything and again for the reasons you yourself cite, I never bothered opening it up. Again, what exactly does Krugman have to do with what is actually in the Act? What part did he write? What part did he vote for? Perhaps you should focus on the ACT itself rather than non sequitors.

Conservatives did away with that idea after thinking through the rammifications of government forcing people to buy a product simply because said individual has a heartbeat was government overreach and unconstitutional. They never lost their minds, Democrats were the ones that went off the deep end.
Horse crap. They just all got in the line of political obstruction at every turn.
"'The mandate made its first legislative appearance in 1993, in the Health Equity and Access Reform Today Act—the Republicans’ alternative to President Clinton’s health-reform bill—which was sponsored by John Chafee, of Rhode Island, and co-sponsored by eighteen Republicans, including Bob Dole, who was then the Senate Minority Leader."'

“Between 2004 and 2008, I saw over eighty members of the Senate, and there were very few who objected,” Wyden says. In December, 2006, he unveiled the Healthy Americans Act. In May, 2007, Bob Bennett, a Utah Republican, who had been a sponsor of the Chafee bill, joined him. Wyden-Bennett was eventually co-sponsored by eleven Republicans and nine Democrats, receiving more bipartisan support than any universal health-care proposal in the history of the Senate. It even caught the eye of the Republican Presidential aspirants. In a June, 2009, interview on “Meet the Press,” Mitt Romney, who, as governor of Massachusetts, had signed a universal health-care bill with an individual mandate, said that Wyden-Bennett was a plan “that a number of Republicans think is a very good health-care plan—one that we support.”

Need to add Obama in that picture, since the new boss is the same as the old boss.

I agree on this point.
The national debt and budget is too important to tie to one law.

Stand out for real spending cuts or cave like all the other times. But don't trash the goverment in hopes of ending a goverment monstrosity.
Obamacare is a lot of waste, but it is only a symptom of a much larger disease.

I wish this sentiment was not so popular among rational conservative, moderates, and liberals.

I am reminded of how conversations often go with some schizophrenics. We can talk about ping pong, or our experiences in the Army, and the conversation is seemingly normal. But veer off on a subject that intersects with the persons delusions, and look out. It gets weird fast. And sayings like, “Going off of the rails on that crazy train,” seem to make sense. But in reality, it took years and years for that train to derail. And it was derailed before our conversation.

This is how it has been for conservatives as a group. The subject where the conversation gets weird is race. And a black president was all it took to make it impossible to avoid the subject.

But they didn't "lose their minds" because Obama was elected. Their minds were already long gone on this subject.

Some conservatives in a group—especially in the south—are probably incapable of a coherent conservation about race, and Obama’s presidency. They are probably incapable of a group discussion about race that doesn't resemble the psychotic ramblings of a paranoid schizophrenic.

I have heard it said since the election of Obama, the ramblings of that Uncle who stays in the basement who's considered crazy, is now mainstream conservative conversation.
