• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi Laura,

It's nice to meet you. Your post is from July 5 and sounds like you are doing well being clean. I know it has to be a day by day process and I'm sure you are going to have the victory. My prayers are with you. Stay strong, stay Faithful and stay victorious. Have a great day.

Welcome Laura. Glad to hear you're going to AA & NA and staying clean and sober. Faith in a Higher Power who many of us call God is absolutely necessary for sobriety IMO. It was what turned me from slipping and sliding around to finally being able to stay sober. God bless you.

Faithfully,
Sacerote

Congratulations on your recovery. I'm also cross addicted, and go to AA for my recovery. My story is long, and includes a few relapses. In 2010, I was in in-patient rehab, and there, I surrendered my entire life, alcoholism and everything to the Lord, and have been released from the obsession to drink. God is good. He is faithful to keep me sober and sane.

God bless.

Hugs,
Trish

God bless you Laura, the first few months can be rough. All I can tell you for sure is if you are willing to do anything to recover there is a solution. Whatever happens just remember there's always someone at those meetings who has beat this. Reach out to them and believe me it helps.

God be with you as you work through this program and just one more tidbit of advice. There is power in service so should be manage to make it through the early stages consider reaching out to others who still struggle

Grace and peace,
Mark
