How can this even be needed ?
Those that worship the tablets constantly use the idea that "god does not change" as their "proof" that all must do their pet commands . Yet , you have to remind them to observe all of them . Where do they draw the line of where He does not change and where He does ?
This but not that - that but not this . Are those that look to stones for guidance thinking that the Law is a buffet where they can pick and choose ? But , they alone may do so , right ? We must observe all - they can observe some but not all and change things here and there for the ones that they do claim to observe .
I was hoping for an answer to the question "How obedient does the faith the saves need to be in order to be saved?"
the festivals were commands.
Ask God. He knows all things.
God tells me that the law cannot make me righteous.
The commandments of the moral law; not the law that said stone witches or homosexuals. The Mosaic law has passed away, but not the moral law. I know you will play games and muddle up scriptures to create confusion, so I ask you, are Christians free to break the 10 commandments, yes or no?
do u think that people here on the thread, don't see my point, that you won't answer?
you talk of the 10, as you select food laws, all while you somehow choose to reject the festival commands.
please advise.
TruthWarrior said:It's a simple question: are Christians free to break the 10 commandments, yes or no? My answer would be no. But for some reason you refuse to give an answer.
Jewish folk follow the 10 commandments. Christians are to follow the covenant of Jesus. What laws did he establish?
Nor does God tell you you are free to break it.
I am free to ignore the sacrifices of the old covenant and the dietary rules and the civil laws aren't I?
Are you free to break the 10 commandments, yes or no?

The 10 reveals the cesspool of the human heart perfectly, foremost including mine, and sadly I break too many of them even before noon, i.e., viewing more from the light on these 10 shed in the N.T. My point, we all break the 10 due to our sinful proclivity and propensity; however the 10 with the rest of the O.T. in the sense of Rom.3:19, 20, not much doubt that I have enough of God's understanding allowing the Holy Spirit revoking all licenses to sin....coupled with Rom.3:18....to flee from the power of sin to God's grace in the two Greatest Commandments, e.g., Deut.6:4, 5; Matt.22:37, etc. Sorry wanted to be more brief and sinfully got carried away.

I believe that the ten commandments teach moral principles that every Christian ought to obey.
Of course the principle in the third commandment, which seems to be the commandment that this thread is about, is that employer and employee ought to rest one day in seven. The fight seems to be about Saturday. The vast majority of Christians rest on both Saturday and Sunday, but some rest on Sunday exclusively while others rest on Saturday exclusively. The former follow apostolic example the latter follow the command as it is written in Exodus 20.
- No fake gods, even if they have fancy idols, they just do not make the grade.
- No treating my (God's) name like dirt, I get all mean when folk do that.
- No working on Saturdays if you are an Israelite, I want you Israelite folk to rest on Saturdays and you gotta let your slaves and servants rest too!
- Be good for your Mum and Dad, they did good for you so you gotta do good for them.
- No killing people.
- No sex outside of marriage.
- No theft.
- No accusing folk of things they didn't do.
- No envying other people's wives (or husbands).
- No envying other people's property and servants and stuff like that.
