Of course, Dad is trying to distort what Professor Tertius and his wife have published. They point out that Genesis 2:7 simply states that H+ADAM ("the human one") was created from "the dust of the ground". In other words, the Hebrew text simply says that the ORIGINAL INGREDIENTS for all life was THE SOIL (and the basic chemical elements of the earth's crust.) So Gen. 2:7 describe abiogenesis, life from non-living ingredients.

Nothing in the Genesis text says that Adam was formed DIRECTLY and/or IMMEDIATELY from the dirt. So the professor is saying that the theory of evolution is completely compatible with Gen. 2:7.

And as Loudmouth observed, only TRADITION as imposed upon the text by Dad makes up the idea that the soil-to-man transformation was instantaneous and without intermediate steps.

The Bible doesn't "teach" the theory of evolution. But it says NOTHING that contradicts it. And that was VerySincere and MrsLurking' postings.

We KNOW it because of the abundant evidence in God's creation. (We even know it from the DNA inside of every descendent of Adam.)

So OF COURSE Adam was the product of evolution. Genesis 2:7 says that the ULTIMATE beginning of the ingredients that went into Adam and ALL of life was "the dust of the ground", dirt/soil. And that came from eroded rock. And that came, ultimately, from elements created by fusion. And ultimately from the Big Bang.
