First one has to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
To do that you may need to look at the Jerusalem issue.
Jerusalem has 3 holy sites for 3 different religions.

Do you give the city to the UN?

Do you give a parts of the city to 3 different countries?
As an end result of the Battle of Ar Mageddon, the great city will be divided 3 ways. Then there will be peace for a thousand years.

The UN are not the solution nor dividing the city. The Jews and Arabs both need to become Christians and to greet the Messiah who alone is capable of breaking down the dividing wall of hostility between them. Until then the land and city belongs to the Jews.

If the Revelation says that Jerusalem will be divided 3 ways, then it will be divided 3 ways.

If the Revelation says that Jerusalem will be divided 3 ways, then it will be divided 3 ways
.

"And there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder; and there was a great earthquake, such as there had not been since man came to be upon the earth, so great an earthquake was it, and so mighty. The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of His fierce wrath..."Rev. 16:18, 19

This passage explains God's destructive wrath on the planet, a great city destroyed (not necessarily Jerusalem) and nations, mountains, by a huge worldwide earthquake that levels everything. This is not some division of property between religions. When Jesus reigns, there will be peace but not because of a division of property but because He will put down sin and lock up Satan and btw there will only be one religion in harmony, Christianity.

Back to the OP, peace always comes after war and one is currently brewing, this may be the one that ignites the Great Tribulation period.

Obadiah 1:

18 Jacob will be a fire
and Joseph a flame;
Esau will be stubble,
and they will set him on fire and destroy him.
There will be no survivors
from Esau.”
The Lord has spoken.
19 People from the Negev will occupy
the mountains of Esau,
and people from the foothills will possess
the land of the Philistines.
They will occupy the fields of Ephraim and Samaria,
and Benjamin will possess Gilead.

Sounds like the day of peace to me.

In the Revelation, a great earthquake is a great war. And Jerusalem is not destroyed, but divided three ways.

Oh I see, symbolic. So then what would the word "war" be symbolic for?
If I had to read all of Revelation in some symbolic code without taking simple words literally, I wouldn't. Regardless, you think it will be divided three ways between the Jews and who else? Palestinians? There won't be any other religions when Jesus returns, just one!

Do you give the city to the UN?

:ahah:
Ahem......no. Just....no.
The UN can't wipe it's own behind, much less run anything....and CERTAINLY not anything as complex as a city.

Do you give a parts of the city to 3 different countries?
[/quote]

No.
No Israeli government is going to agree to seperating Jerusalem. It's just not going to happen. So the Arabs are going to have be compensated in other ways, for instance dismantling most of the settlements in Judea and Samaria, and trading land for those settlements too big to dismantle (places like Gilo, Ma'aleh Adumim, etc)

If the Revelation says that Jerusalem will be divided 3 ways, then it will be divided 3 ways.

Good thing it does not say that, then.

well, there was a quite a bit of peace in Palestine after the fall of crusader states up to the massive immigration of eastern europeans in the early 20th century.

"peace" as in "Christians and Jews treated like trash, by the muslim overlords, which changed when Israel was established"? Yes.
Peace as in the "Oh so tolerant islam"-myth that's gained prominence? No.

Finally: I get really...really......exhausted when I hear people say: "Revelation says this and this, therefore this and this will happen 100% literally in 2 years, because I've counted 730 on the inside!!!" or some other nonsense like that.
Revelation is not a palantír, much less is it a detailed "20 steps to the ending"-step-for-step-guide to current events.
Though its message and themes are still very much relevant for us today, because the topics it mentions are timeless, it is so full of the symbolism that characterizes 1st century Apocalyptic litterature, and of OT-references, that one needs to pay very close attention to this while interpreting anything it says. Much like the nonsense about the number 666 being everything from barcodes, to credit cards, to Obama, etc.

Jerusalem will be divided between the Jews, Christians, and Muslims, the 3 Abrahamic religions.

How about letting the Palestinians have the Dome of the Rock ?
Make it like an Embassy.

Well, it changed to Christians and Muslims treated by trash, by jewish overlords. There used to be a pretty substantial palenstian christian population, before the israeli apartheid ethno-nationalist state.

You can visit sometime and get spit on by haredi rabbi's in the street too :D

Nice try, Adolf, but it seems I know more about the conditions there than you do. I've lived in Israel, in Jerusalem, no less, for a year, all in all, and I never experienced anything negative on account of me being a Christian. On the contrary.

The Jews are not the problem for the Christian Arabs. There are many more Christian Arabs in Israel, than in Judea and Samaria - why do you suspect that is? Because in Israel, they are left in peace, and not persecuted for not being muslims.
There is no better place in the Middle East to be a Christian, than Israel. Fact.

Take your "apartheit"-Pallywood propaganda, and shove it where the sun doesn't shine. None of us are buying it.

Does anyone know enough about history to share, has there ever been peace in the middle east?
(While humans populated it that is. ;))
No there hasn't. There's one big reason why, and I'm not offering prizes!

And one thing we certainly should NOT do, in the search for Middle East peace, is consult a book written in the bronze age.
