I watched the main stream media and heard scant and/or no reporting on a massive rally in our nations capital .

Over 500,000 citizens in Pro-life day. I submit that our media for the most is no better than any other totalitarian regime in any other God forsaken part of the hemisphere.

Can you imagine, if over 500,000 marched on Washington for Pro-abortion rights ? The media would be non-stop in coverage.

Undaunted by bitterly cold temperatures and a forecast for snow, pro-life marchers came to Washington for the March for Life -- as they have for four decades -- determined, they say, to instill a culture of life in a nation that has seen 55 million abortions since the landmark Roe v. Wade decision.
The National Park Service no longer does crowd size estimates, but organizers believed the crowd Friday to be considerably larger than last year's 400,000 people.
The list of speakers was pared down from years past with some legislators, House Speaker John Boehner among them, offering video-taped remarks to the shivering crowd.

What a glorious blessing indeed if each one of those in that 500,000 who were adults and able, would adopt one born child from an orphanage in America.

Quality of life! For the lives born without families.

That would be a blessing. (from an orphanage anywhere for that matter). Good adoptive parents are needed, and are a real blessing!

Overhauling the adoption system making it easier & less money oriented with the proper precautions for the children going to good homes would help tremendously.

I've only been on 2 sides of the triad, but from what I understood, there wasn't much money changing hands to adopt from Catholic Charities. I'm also thinking that it isn't too financially difficult to adopt older kids in need of a home. The only time I'm aware of a big expense is with private agencies when looking to adopt infants in the US or overseas.

If all the reforms that are spoken about in any political season, rare is that of adoption protocols one of them.
I think adoption is forgotten in general when it comes to the national discussion on abortion.

From my experience...it seems the conversation goes...
'Amen, you've decided to keep your baby. Praise God! We have prenatal classes and baby clothes from our pregnancy center to share with you'

'Well, I've decided to have the baby, actually. Instead of having an abortion, I'm going to place the baby for adoption'

'Oh, ok, well good luck with that'

Believe me...we went through the process. It is never easy & rarely cheap. No matter the age or even if you try to adopt siblings to keep them together.

I'm glad it was such a success, but where does the 500,000 + number come from?

The article states it exceeded last years 400,000 and I heard from a few different sources that the crowd was or near 500,000. So I extrapolated from that the 500,000 figure.

here is life news stating 500,000. There are also news sources reporting over 400,000 such as Fox and others.

More than 500,000 people are attending today’s March for Life in a massive attendance that could be well higher than that estimate and set records for the annual pro-life event challenging the mantra of unlimited abortion.

I heard an interview from a Black pastor in Boston. He was a Harvard graduate and helps couples in the adoption process. he stated, that when the child service agencies hear that a prospective parent is Christian, the conversation ends.

Well the child or children's culture is brought up as well. Sort of a backhanded way of saying you'll raise these kids the way we say if you are going to be parents. We had nothing against culture but unless you are loaded you pretty much have to tow their line which can be extremely stressful.

I find it hard to believe that in a country that's more than 70% Christian, adoption agencies are refusing to allow Christians to adopt.

I've never heard of anyone being turned down for that reason.

My brother adopted an inner-city child through a secular agency, and the birth mother liked that he was a Christian and that her child would be raised with those values. I've never heard of Christianity precluding adoption in the US, unless the parents who were going to give up their child made an issue of not wanting their chaild to go to a Christian home.

I agree with Rand Paul's words. [Noting - i agree with all of them basically] but here are Paul's words:

"I believe that great nations and great civilizations spring from a people who have a moral compass," Paul said. "Our nation is adrift, adrift in a wilderness where right and wrong have become subservient to a hedonism of the moment. I believe our country is in need of a revival."

Thanks Mike.
