Heres a incredible recipe for buttery soft pretzels, these are killer easy too, I actaully way prefer these to the mall pretzels (anyday) I dont roll small pretzels I make them as long as the baking pan can hold (braided is best). slathered in butter :yum:

The ratings tell more then the picture, they changed the orginal pic on this, but this is my absolute favorite recipe for them (I feeze them too) to pull out and microwave (so beats store bought anywaday)

Buttery Soft Pretzels Recipe - Allrecipes.com

I make pretzel hotdogs with this recipe too

And cheese stuffed pretzels too (various stuff you can do with this)

But You know what else I make from this pretzel dough, a ribeye steak pretzel stromboli with carmelize onions garlic in bacon fat. Its REALLY awesome. I fry up two ribeye steaks 1/4 inch thick and cut thinly cut toss the carmelized onion/garlic mixture in with that, add layer with lots of mozerella and provalone cheese and put it all into the prtezel dough (rolled out for it). Really good as a stromboli, done that with Italian meatballs and cheese too

This is so worth it to make, like 4 ingredients mixed on a dough hook, 1 hour to rise in a greased ziplock, a few minues to shape and 7-8 minutes in the oven (tops)

Im always passing this one out, hope someone can enjoy it as much as we do I make these all the time (hubbys absolute favorite).

A ribeye in a pretzel!?! That sounds GREAT!! When do I need to show up for dinner?

Yes, for DAYS! lol.
When I have CC in the house I eat little bits of it until it's gone.
Sometimes I try to push it way back in the fridge so the fam
forgets about it ;) True story lol.
Thanks for the recommendation!

Looks like it.
Where I live, grilling is out of the question right now.
Schools have been closed all week so far.
Blowing and snowing and freezing.
But we can all come to your place!
:p

I've got the little Weber. There'll be a line  But hey TX has some nice weather right now.

I never heard of doing that ^_^

Peant butter apples? I heard of peanut butter bananas and pickle sandwiches

I was actually curious because folks love them and actually had two of them, they were so bad at all^_^

Something cancels out another thing and it works somehow.

I never had one again (it never made that kind of impression) but it was so weird I had to try it, I can at least say I ate one of those.

I put peanut butter inside my dogs hollow bones, they love it lol

My sister told me about it when we were kids.

Another thing we do for a simple treat is toast a pice of bread, butter it up omn one side, pour sugar on it & dump off what doesn't stick to the butter. Now sprinkle as much cinnamon as you can stand, on top of it.

I like to keep things simple because I'm usualy havin' so much fun I forget to eat until I'm too hungry to do something complicated.

If only I could get my husband to have so much fun he says, please hon dont cook for me ^_^

Rick, my mom (who we lived with) didnt buy cookies when we were younger, thats what we ate, in fact in one place we didnt even have a toaster. So that was me and my sisters treat. Ours was soft bread (no toaster) with butter and sugar (but no cinnamon). We didnt know much different, worked well for us (then) but I think ew gross (now) ^_^

Your version is far more superior.

I thought Dawn cooked for you, not you for yourself?

Dawn cooks for me, but I'm far from helpless to me or her. It is generaly agreed around here that my touch with breakfast is the best, so I get stuck with that chore on Saturdays AND the Sundays that her brother doesn't have a family breakfast at his house.
But Dawn is in fact the resident Soup Goddess. Tonight she took a break & we had pasta with some of those vine -ripened Mexican tomatoes that they've been dumping on the US market for less than it cost to produce them. HA Ha! I love it. That is exactly how the U.S. wrecks their market & forces their farmers onto welfare or into por growing. And the Mexican vine-ripened tomatoes are far better than the gas ripened American tomatoes.

I sure dont get the markets, but how sad

Both you and my husband do weekend breakfast's. Not that he has your special touch, just that I sleep in longer then him and he cant wait. He thinks he'll starve waiting for me (lol).

So he knows how to crack an egg and turn up the heat under it ^_^

That cute, Dawn's your Soup goddess ^_^

Come on over^_^ Its one expensive pretzel stromboli though, but really delicious.
Well, as good as that sounds, now it seems Sup has offered ... RIBS.
Nothing much compares with ribs in my book lol.
HONEY ALMOND BARS
This looks amazing Carmella.
Is this a family recipe?
Thanks for posting it!
And welcome to the foodies thread lol.

I've got the little Weber. There'll be a line  But hey TX has some nice weather right now.
Heck, who's in a hurry anyhow?
Little Weber?
I thought everything was bigger in Tx...
(Probably never heard THAT joke before huh?)

Yum.
I agree. Dont know that I dare eat American anything lately lol.

Dawn makes what I call "Sudetenland Soup". It is a classic German Potatoe Soup, but I talked her into adding fried slices of Kielbasa (Polish). Totaly awesome.
And?
Recipe following? lol

I made some cheesy broccoli soup tonight.
And boring pigs in a blanket.
Pretty sad after all our grandiose talk on this thread.
:D:wave:
Come back with recipes in hand mister ;)
Seriously though, that sounds awesome!
And kielbasa is so delicious.
Yum...

That is a good simple snack. We used to leave all the sugar on as well.

How about basil? How much do you recommend if using dry?

Oh, and any other tips?
Thanks again sweetie!
