The blood Atonement rehearsed by the High Priest in Israel was received in faith as the rehearsal of the final Atonement that was to come....

"Gather My Saints unto Me, those that have made the Covenant by Sacrifice".
And; 23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

God keeps His promises.

50 The mighty God, even the Lord, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.
3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.
5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

6 And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.
7 Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.
8 I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.
9 I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.
11 I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.
12 If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.
13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?
14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:
15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.
16 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?
17 Seeing thou hatest instruction, and casteth my words behind thee.
18 When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.
19 Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.
20 Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.
21 These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
22 Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

Going about to establish salvation as some new thing only come down to mankind after Jesus died and rose is totally against all Scripture.

I think you need to become a student of the Word of God and that you need to begin at the beginning, and build on that, so as to see the big and total picture of the One Way to be saved for all men from the beginning of the world.

There is, for instance, the Book of Life, in which every single seed of Adam who have ever come out of his loins on this earth were first written in the Book of Life to come forth, in Adam, as sons of God.
When Adam fell, the seed in his loins fell in him, but the names did not get blotted out of the Book of Life and will not be blotted out of the Book of Life until a soul come to fruit in Adam rejects the Light that lights every man that comes into the world, or neglects that Light, or receives that Light, and then blasphemes the Holy Spirit who revealed Christ as that Light, to them -like Judas.

It is impossible to be born in Adam unless one was written in the Book of Life to be born in Adam, from the foundation of the world.

Every single soul written in that Book of Life is written there because the Lamb of God was slain from the foundation of the world, and was going to come in flesh in due season to perform what was sealed in heaven, for the ransom back to Himself of every single seed to be born in Adam.

One can only get one's name blotted out of that Book of Life =Salvation; for all in Adam are written in that Book of Life before they come into their Adam being; being blotted out is a personal, individual and a one at a time blotting out, and is based on the rejection of the Light that lights every man that comes into the world, so that they may seek that Light, and seeking, find -and as long as there is breath, there is hope [but Judas was blotted out for blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, as we see in the Word of God, in the Psalms].

Many sought, and found, and looked forward to the Day that was made from the foundation of the world, when the Atonement would be accepted that would open the gates of death =separation from the Glory above, and enter into the City of God above, which Adam got cast down and out of, at the fall, when the Glory departed his being, irrevocably.

Salvation is ours to lose, by our own life choices on what we do with the Light, which is Christ, Who lights every man that comes into the world. We are already written in the Book of Life, and we can only get blotted out.
He was always going to come, and now is come, and we must proclaim His Salvation for all men, to return to the LORD before it is too late.
Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while He is near. For the Day comes when no man can seek, but only look forward to an eternity of darkness, where the Light does not dwell.

Isaiah 55:
6Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the Lord, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.
9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:
11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Dougg,
Look at the Book of Life; Judas was written in it, and got his name blotted out, and "it was better for that man not to have been born" [as Enoch the prophet first wrote, and as Jesus quoted]; as well as the others who knew by revelation of the Holy Spirit, that Jesus was the Christ/Messiah/the Son of God, and turned Him over to be crucified, willfully, and knowingly.

Psalm 69:
20 Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.
21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.
24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
25 Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.
26 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.
27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
To have your name in the book of life is to be redeemed by the Lamb of God, because the Book is His, and He died to cover Adam's transgression and cleanse every soul born in Adam and adopt them as His own sons and bring them "to Glory", to build up Zion by them, as living stones, for the Glory to indwell.
That is what Adam fell from being, and is what the One Plan from the foundation of the world was made to do for all the seed of Adam who would ever come to fruit in Adam.
Adam's transgression is covered and the death of separation from the Glory is ended for all the seed of Adam. Our bodies of Salvation are not yet received, so we live, still, in the body of death, in our Adam nature, while we have the New Man nature generated in us and are made one with His Living Spirit and await the Day of our bodies being made new, too, and shedding the body of death.
Because the promised "Acceptable Sacrifice" is now complete in physical fact, not one single soul born in Adam goes to Sheol to await the end of the first death, if they die before coming to the age of accountability, but they go directly to the presence of Glory above, to await their resurrection body elementally changed to the image of the New Man, which is the Adoption body; and they go to the presence of the Glory above because all souls are written in the Lamb's Book of Life, and He died once, in due season to save every soul written in that book, and no one gets blotted out of that book unless they willfully neglect, reject, or blaspheme the Holy Spirit -which is what Judas did when he betrayed the Christ whom he knew was the Son of God, by revelation.

Yeshua said He was going away for a Long Time

After a long time the Adonai of those servants comes, and reckons with them. Mat 25:19

YAHUWAH told us beforehand through the prophet Hosea that He would Return to His Place for Two Days for the offenses of the House of Judah and the House of Israel. Hosea 5:15-6:2

He left His Place when He took upon flesh and dwelt among us, laying down His Life, a Servant unto death upon the cross/tree

Peter says do not be Ignorant Mishpocah, without knowledge, stuck on stupid - that one day with YHWH as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day

How long is the Day of YHWH- One thousand years, the day starts at sunset, then the darkest hour -Midnight - The Great Tribulation, on eagles wings going towards Tzion

If these two days are not shortened, No flesh would survive, man would destroy himself, before the two thousand years that Yeshua said He would go away had come to an end.

The Two Houses of Yisrael will acknowledge their offences

In their Affliction/Great Tribulation...They will seek Him - Real Quick

Thank you so much for sharing this song...it blessed me so !!!!

No, the issue is whether they were saved in their day or some other time.
Being righteous does not equate to being saved because a saved person has the "perfect" righteousness of Christ imputed on to them.
Righteous doesn't take on any meanings here! You're playing on the word.

The Name of God "Jehovah Tsidkenu" means "the Lord our righteousness"! It is an inescapable name for God that says God was the righteousness of the OT saints.

That you miss these things is just mind boggling!
Paul did not argue that Abraham in his day was "perfectly" righteous.
What Paul said about Abraham, you have to read correctly:

Abraham believed God and it was CREDITED to him as righteousness

Think about that. Paul meant what he said.
Likewise, the Jew of Judaism today are looking forward to the promised Messiah in faith - but they have not received the gospel, and are not saved.

Doug
Like I said, the OT salvation came the same as ours! By grace through faith, not of works. They were as saved as you or I are now, and many of them testify to that in the scriptures. You simply ignore it. This is "right in your face" facts of scripture that somehow you just don't see!

*You don't see that the tabernacle is a picture of Christ and every sacrifice given spoke of Christ, and if it was offered in face God honored that.

*You don't see that the Passover is a picture of Christ and by faith God honored that.

*You don't see "the Day of Atonement" as a picture of salvation in Christ, and by faith God honored that.

It's wrong headed Doug! I encourage you do go read about those things again!

What do you think Pentecost meant to the OT saints? It looked to the resurrection. How do you miss that?

Why do you think it says "Noah found "GRACE" in the eyes of the LORD"? Because it the SAME grace you and I received, only we looked back to the cross, the OT saints looked forward to the cross.

Methinks your gospel is not the gospel, but you have a formula that you call your gospel, which does not agree with the Word of God.
The gospel I embraced and proseltyze is the "Lord Jesus Christ and him crucified". Now what within the quotes does not agree with the Word of God.

Salvation by the Lamb of God who was slain from the foundation of the world is the One Way God ordained for all men to be saved for all time, out of Adam and into the New Man name, by adoption into His one Living Spirit and then, into His New Man body image.
In order to receive that Salvation a person has to accept and embrace it. And it was not until after Jesus died on the cross that the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and him crucified was revealed, made manifest.Up until that point it was kept a secret.

Romans 16:
25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

Enoch the prophet, the seventh from Adam wrote about the one salvation which the righteous would have, in the Name of the Son of Man, whom Enoch saw in heaven, hidden, in secret, whose name was secret, and who was God, and who was with God; who would come; die; rise; ascend; be glorified; and raise the saints to dwell with Him in immortal flesh, regenerated elements of their own bodies, forever.
Which is not in a canonical book of the bible.
You need to stop claiming this Gospel was not known.
Romans 16:
25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

I am not going to stop claiming that the gospel was kept a secret from understanding until the revelation of it by the Lord Jesus Christ himself after the crucifixion because that what the bible says.

Isaiah was righteous, right? Yet, Isaiah saw his righteousness as filthy rags before Lord.

No one, including Abraham was perfectly righteous. Not Abraham's, not Moses, Not Noah... no-one but Christ. There is no other way to be saved.

OT saints had a different object of faith than us ....

that why in Heb 11:1 it defines what faith

Abraham had to believe that God the Son was the same God recurring to him time after time ... NOT MANY DIFFERENT Gods before he was saved BUT what saved Abraham was in Gen 15:3-6 but even when He had faith for one thing He also doubted God in vs 8

do you see it?

re: 'chronois aioniois'
Doug, you'll need to verify the language. This phrase is merely 'long ages.' In the view of Paul, that could be as short as from him back to the last prophet, although it is probably all the prophets, but there again, Moses might be considered the first. But it is not 'since creation.' I believe you have confused this with this kind of phrase in Eph 1 ('pro kataboles kosmou' before the world began) or 2 Pet 3's 'ap arches ktiseos' (since the creation of the world). Those latter 2 are how a koine writer would say 'since creation' if that's what they meant. He did not in Rom. 16.

He simply means (as in Eph 3) that the method for the nations to be blessed (in "Israel") has been embedded in prophecy, but not seen clear until now. Before Christ and his righteousness, they thought the typical Gentile was going to have to master all the regulations, circumcision, sabbaths, dietary laws, etc. as their righteousness. This is how radical it is to say 'Christ is my righteousness' which is what we do as believers.

Were the disciples - gentiles?

Luke 24:

44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.
45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,
46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

The disciples were Jews. The gospel was kept a secret from understanding from them until after the resurrection.

How about Satan and the demons? Paul is says "unto our glory" - which would be both the Jews (Paul) and the gentiles.

1Corinthians 2:

7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our [both Jews and Gentiles] glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Who was the big loser when Jesus was crucified - and mankind was set free from the bondage of sin? In who's interest was it that the kingdom of God to be ushered in by the messiah, the king of Israel, be thwarted by killing the messiah? Satan and the demons. That's who. Which is why the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and him crucified was kept a secret from the beginning of time.

Try that again Doug...the issue with what Isaiah said is "ALL OUR RIGHTEOUSNESSES" are as filthy rags. Wrong application there.

This is also why I said you need to study salvation. The words "righteousness", "justification" and "salvation" are synonymous terms when it comes to soteriology.

It is not how it came, but what it is. Salvation in Christianity is saved by the blood of Jesus, him crucified and resurrected. There is no other way to be saved - at any point in time.
Yes it is about how it came! Why is Abraham the figure Paul uses? Have you even read Romans 3, 4, 5? The issue is salvation which is why Paul uses Abraham.

I don't know why you say all those things about me. I understand those things but they do not show that persons in the old testament as being saved in their day accordingly. Yes they do. Again you miss the whole point of scripture on this.

Romans 16:
25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,
If you even understood what he means Doug. I'm done here brother.

I sure hope God opens your eyes about this because you've been taught a wrong view of OT saints salvation, and of salvation overall.

re Gentiles
no the first disciples were Jews but had the question: how do the Gentiles come into the "Israel" that is being created new? The answer divides the church pretty sharply.

It wasn't thwarted, though. (A Davidic geographic kingdom was, but that was not what Jesus taught). The betrayal of Christ was known way ahead (Acts 2:23). To injure the heel of someone, is a statement of deceit (Gen 3). How many Psalms announce details of the betrayal; I've forgot.

As for the "rulers" ('archonton tou aionos') of 1 Cor 2, you'll have to supply reasons why that is the transcendant group known as the ruling spirits ('stoicheia') of Gal 4 and Col 2, and the list in Eph 6 (which to be sure includes 'archas' but lumps its list with the forces in the 'epouranious' where Christ reigns; you would have to say Pilate and Caiaphas were in both places at once.) We can't ignore the responsibility of Pilate and Caiaphas. They were not the 'archas' and 'exousias' that were led captive by the Cross (Col. 2:15). But the others were and they are the ones who impose traditions of men on them.

In Acts 3, Peter knows they acted in ignorance. Not because of total hiddenness of information, though. The suffering of messiah was announced "long ago by means of all the prophets". That's a 4 part answer. Suffering, Messiah, length of notice, location of notice. The "way it came true" may have been suprising. BTW, in 3:17 'brothers' and 'leaders' go together, and leaders there is 'archontes.'

As for #154's coherence, what specifically, Riverrat? Maybe you missed the previous questions, in which Doug says there is no awareness by anyone (human) of the Gospel coming in the OT. Absolutely nothing until the day Christ was born, or later!

Actually we are explicitly told that it was not even known until after the Lord Jesus was crucified.

"7But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: 8Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." (2 orinthians 2:7-9)

Romans 16:
25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began,

Doug
Methinks in your blindness that you have stumbled over the Stumbling Stone and cannot even see what you stumbled over because you are so blinded by a false gospel of something that was never even hinted at in the Word.
That Stumbling Stone over which you stumble and cannot even identify was seen by Enoch, and Paul "saw", just as John did and as all the Apostles did.
The Son of Man in heaven whom Enoch saw, "hidden in God, with God, who was God", and who "was to come to be revealed to the elect" and "in whose [formerly secret] name the righteous are saved", is the "Mystery" revealed to the elect, and John saw the day of His revealing to the whole world, and called it "The Revelation of Jesus Christ", which is the opening up of the understanding of what Enoch had seen "hidden, in God, with God, who was God, and who was to come, and in whose name the elect are saved".

1 Cor 2:7 Paul delcares that to those born again after receiving the Gospel by the demonstration of power, we speak/teach/preach/tell Wisdom, God in mystery hidden which God ordained before the ages unto our glory"

That, above, is the literal translation of 2 Cor 2:7, and the context is missed and stumbled over by you who want the Son of Man to be stumbled over, as the Mystery revealed, and who was seen by Enoch, only, as a mystery, and who was with God, and who was God, and who was God the Word, who made all things and upholds all things and who was to come and who was to die and rise and in whose name the righteous would be saved.

That formerly secret name is "Israel" invoked over Jacob, first, as the revealed Name of God, the Son of Man, the Living Spirit/Messiah/Christ, who was to come in flesh as the New creation Man, in whose name the righteous are saved by adoption into His One Living Spirit and regeneration of flesh into His New Man body of flesh, and named, then, "Israel", and not "Adam", after the elements of the body of flesh are regenerated in the New Man name and image.
You need to learn the doctrine of the Son of Man in heaven, as Enoch revealed Him, first, who was "Wisdom, God, hidden in mystery by God, ordained before the age for our Glory", and who was to come, and in whose name the righteous are saved.
The Apostles wrote of Him, and knew, that He is the Mystery, "Wisdom", revealed to the "elect".
Stop stumbling over that Stone, and learn the Wisdom of God, ordained before the age, for our salvation -for our "Glory"!

The "mystery" is defined by Pauls context, as there are a few mysteries in God's plan.

*The mystery of Christ and the Church. Eph 5:32

*The mystery of Jews and Gentiles being ONE in Christ. Eph 3

*The mystery of the resurrection - 1 Cor 15:51

There are more...
