I never noticed that bible verses are not welcome in such threads to be honest with you. I really have no idea why that would be the case. Maybe its because there are so many different interpretations of Bible verses? Regardless, many such interpretations are false. Others are true if they are orthodox in doctrine.

Is it that they are not welcome or are used to prove a point out of context and the general over all truth of Scirpture. I find often that verses are used to destroy the Scripture and the truth. Really makes Christianity to be ... well er unreasonable (to be nice and Christian). There are way too many things that the ellipsis could be filled with.

LOL! I'm sorry if i'm not makin' sense.....i just saw a thread where the OP said specifically not to post Bible verses to respond in the thread.

That would make sense in deeper fellowship cuz the letter kills but the spirit gives life . but in GT that's a pipe dream .

Ask the OP why he/she did it. There could be a reason I suppose.

Hi Brinny:wave:, I had not noticed. But I am glad you did and brought the subject up. It gets confusing if people do not want you to post God's word in the proper context.
That's because one mans context is another mans protext..... :nooo::zoro:
Trying to speak to them usually precipitates this type of resonse:waaah:

what do you mean by pipe dream?

GT is heavily saturated in "letter" energy . so when someone says "don't do this" people will feel even more tempted to .. as the bible suggests

shouldn't it be saturated by God's grace and edification for one another?

I've seen where the OP asks that the answeres not come from the bible when the poster is agnostic or atheist especially when proving the existence of God. But what I have seen is even when you give a natural example using humane intellect that it is never excepted as a good answer anyway. It really come down to if someone is open to excepting that there is a God and therefore subjecting that person to God's righteousness.

If you're talking about the thread I think you're talking about, it's because the OP was looking for peoples opinions as to why X subject was being discussed so frequently.

The use of bible verses in that thread would derail it from it's topic, turning it into another debate about why one should or shouldn't agree with X subject.

I understand an agnostic or atheist not wanting Bible verses to inundate their thread, but for a fellow brother and sister in Christ to find Bible verses "unhelpful" boggles me mind. God's Word is our spiritual "bread", isn't it?
