Obama erodes the American dream

"One of President Barack Obama’s latest campaign themes is trust — that he can be trusted and Republican nominee Mitt Romney can’t. Thanks to his own words, we know that Obama can be trusted to put ideology ahead of commonsense economic goals to put people back to work.

In an interview with the editorial board of the Des Moines Register, Obama was asked if he regretted his push to enact health-care overhaul legislation when he had huge Democratic majorities in Congress instead of emphasizing measures to fix the economy. “Absolutely not,” responded the president."

Obama destroyed the American dream? All by himself in about four years? Come on now.

"Erodes" is not "destroyed". The dream is alive, only weaker, under Obama. Proof of this erosion is part of my signature.

In an interview with the editorial board of the Des Moines Register, Obama was asked if he regretted his push to enact health-care overhaul legislation when he had huge Democratic majorities in Congress instead of emphasizing measures to fix the economy. “Absolutely not,” responded the president."
But there was something real he could do to fix the problem of healthcare. 40,000 people were dying each year because they had no heath insurance. Obamacare will solve most of this problem.

And Romney has no alternative that will fix this problem, correct? If Romney wins and Obamacare is repealed, those people continue to die. They kick the bucket. Dead. Six feet under. Belly up. Toes pointing skyward. Feeding daisies. Rotting. Dead. That is what happens to the uninsured under Romney's plan--or rather, lack of plan. If not, please tell us what he would do to fix the problem of the uninsured.

OK, and what did you want Obama to do on the economy? That is the question you were asked on the other thread. Your answer? Lower taxes. But that is exactly what Obama did. He lowered taxes. The economy is recovering slowly, but debt is very high. Based on that can we really lower taxes further? But you keep on shouting the same panacea, even when taxes are low and deficits are high. Lower taxes! That simply makes no sense to me.

How do you know for a fact that 40,000 people died specifically because they had no insurance? How do you tie cause and effect together in their deaths? What states were these people living in?

I've pointed you to the 159 page Romney plan on jobs a dozen times. At this point, I must conclude you really have no interest in Romney's plan.

Doesn't want people to die because they don't have healthcare = ideological nutter.

Health and the economy are important.

Yes, health and economy are important. What is your point?

"Trust him"....WOW! I wouldn't trust him any farther than I can throw a 1958 Buick Limited 4-door sedan with a family of six and a dog inside, the gas tank and trunk both full, and an overloaded luggage rack.

Health and the economy are important.

If the politicians in Washington really thought that the health of American citizens is so important, they would have simply extended their own health care plan to all of us.

And if they likewise really thought that Obamacare is such a sweet deal, then they wouldn't have exempted themselves from it, now would they? ;)

Not much more than that for now.

Well Obamacare still isn't good enough, just better than before.

Chicago PMI report out came in at 49.9, with the prior month PMI 49.7. Economists had projected the Chicago PMI to be 51.0. A number less than 50 indicates contraction. Last and this month's PMI were the first months of contraction for the Chicago region since the recession ended.

New study finds 45,000 deaths annually linked to lack of health coverage | Harvard Gazette

50 million people do not have health insurance. Most of these will be devastated financially if they get a major disease. Many die as a result.

There is one plan on the table to counteract this: Obamacare. Romney opposes this plan, and puts nothing on the table that would solve this problem.

I've pointed you to the 159 page Romney plan on jobs a dozen times. At this point, I must conclude you really have no interest in Romney's plan.
And I have linked to the summary of that economic plan several times. And I have started two threads where I linked to that plan in the OP and gave my analysis. (http://www.christianforums.com/t7697678/ and http://www.christianforums.com/t7695896/..) And you have responded in both of those threads. So you must surely know of my interest in Romney's plan.

How can you possibly say I have no interest in Romney's plan?

FEBA for everyone would cost exponentially more than the ACA's provisions. But I like the idea!

And if they likewise really thought that Obamacare is such a sweet deal, then they wouldn't have exempted themselves from it, now would they? ;)

Because it's not as good as FEBA.
