Systematic Theology?

Does anyone know of a good systematic theology that is LBC 1689 compliant?
I've been looking for one forever.
Or what about an expository on the LBC 1689?

I'd prefer something modern. Haha I love the old stuff, but I'm weary of trying to understand the old language and words. :3
Any help would be great.

twin posted an excellent resource worth grabbing if you can. It can be had for $21 here.

It is difficult to find one volume so I always recommend John Gill's Complete Body of Doctrinal and Practical Divinity. You would probably have better luck buying individual volumes on different aspects of theology then trying to find one, complete and detail volume on confessional Baptist theology...but I sure someone is working on it.

One of the best books on baptism in the early church was written by two paedobaptists who come to the conclusion that credobaptism was first practiced and latter replaced by infant baptism. They examine sources sited by paedobaptists to see what they really mean. Have a look here.

Another book every confessional Baptist should own, Believer's Baptism: Sign of the New Covenant In Christ. It deals with the Calvin's work, paedobaptist assumptions and covenant theology.

If you have a good understanding of baptism you can easily make use of many Reformed theologies on the market today.

Do you own a leather bound copy of the 1689? My wife and I bought copies for family and use them to help guide our family studies. Don't forget to pick up Waldron's exposition of the 1689 as well. Bedomme's exposition of the Baptist catechism uses nothing but scripture to answer the questions and can be had pretty cheap.

I would recommend becoming familiar with Luther's theology and piety but would not recommend Philip Melanchthon, not before Luther, who is truly is the founder of what became known as "Lutheranism."

Start with Luther's On Christian Freedom, his commentary on Galatians and Bondage of the Will.

I have actually heard that Herman Bavinck's 4 volume "Reformed Dogmatics" is the best you can get. I've never read it.

Having read Bavinck I highly recommend the set, especially Prolegomena which opens up the vast field of theology and his last volume Holy Spirit, Church and New Creation.

Vos reviewed the set in Redemptive History and Biblical Interpretation...which I also recommend.

A Puritan Theology would be a good single volume to grab up or The Christian's Reasonable Service by Brakel.
