Agnostic needs prayer BADLY

So for the last few months, I was trying to be a good Christian again and accepting God back into my life. Just today I let it mostly go because of some overwhelming evidence I've researched regarding Christianity and it's pagan roots/influences (such as God being born of mortals, heaven and hell, good vs evil, Zoroastrianism's identical beliefs (6 day creation, savior who will judge, god vs satan, etc)), AND the notion of Hell, and how I could ever possibly enjoy heaven with loved ones in hell for not being full believers. Or how all of a sudden, in the NT God is a loving and compassionate God despite killing so many people in the OT.

So as I will pray tonight for the truth, I wouldn't mind some prayer if the Lord could give me some signs to reveal the truth, or his existence to me somehow. Whatever it takes, as long as I don't end up dead

Please, I'm a backsliding Christian who needs prayers!

Also I might sound selfish when I ask for prayers like this. I would like everyone to pray for unbelievers and those who are unsure worldwide! This is the toughest stage of accepting God and Christ into your life for good.

I challenge you to also pray for yourself as well. Don't feel like you have to say a big long scripted prayer. Just talk to God from your heart. If you feel like crying even better.

You mentioned that you were “trying” to be a good Christian. Christianity is not an easy walk. If you are trying to do it alone you will have a challenging time. You NEED Christ. He is the one that will give you the strength you need to overcome all obstacles in your life. You have to BELIEVE though. All you need is FAITH.

I want to encourage you to get to know God for yourself. It’s really easier than you may think. Us as humans, we complicate things because of the way our minds work. We always want an answer for everything. Put aside everything that you have ever been told, read, saw on TV, heard from a friend or family member and seek the truth for yourself. Start by praying. Ask God to reveal the truth to you about who He is and His word. Read the bible and meditate on His words. They are life and will come alive to you. If you come across parts in the bible that you don’t understand, ask God for wisdom.

Stop beating yourself up. We have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). ALL OF US! If we could have fixed our messes we wouldn’t need Jesus. He came once and for all to set us all free. You are free! Own that. God loves you. Don’t you ever forget that!

Lastly, you need to really (I mean really) understand that there is someone who literally hates your guts about as much as God loves you...and he wants to see your life ruined, make you think you are worthless and unpurposed , to have you see no hope, and to ultimate steal your joy / destroy your life in a variety of ways/ and ultimately to see you dead way before your time. This is Satans plan for you and the rest of us. Its going to be up to you whether you give him the ground to work with in his mission, or, if you will get on Gods side and totally surrender your life to Christ so you can be infilled with Gods spirit so you can actively and effectively fight against this unseen yet real Person and force . You cant do it apart from Christ .

Once you surrender your life truly to Christ, then you have at your disposal an entire array of things to get you to the point of being an Overcomer ...including the entire power of Heaven behind you. If this sounds good to you, then start by surrendering yourself to Christ by Recieving him , then asking for his power so you can turn and escape from what youre involved in for sin, get with a bunch of Christian Guys who will love on you and help you, and get to church regularly so you can be built-up in your Christian Walk.

I believe youve reached a crossroad in your life, and now is the time to make a REAL drastic change before you get deeper in the consequences of Sin . I did it a long time ago and im so glad i washed my hands of a sinfilled LIfestyle before i got real hurt . I wish the same for you. David.
