Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

Malachi 3:8

God says you can steal from Him and you had better believe it!

Many people do not believe that a man can steal from God. A man can steal from God but it is dangerous to do so.

If you steal from a poor man you will probably get away with it. But if you steal from an important person, you will get into big trouble. The greater the person, the more dangerous it is to steal from him. Stealing from God is very risky business indeed because, God sees everything and knows each time you steal from Him.

You clearly don't know the correct understanding of the scripture. Malachi is always being misquoted. Malachi is not speaking to people who haven't given as robbing God. He is speaking to the leaders who stole from the tithe already collected and calls them out in chapter 2:1. "And you oh my priests". You cannot call it a tithe until it has been collected and you cannot be robbed from something that doesn't yet exist.
The tithe was a taxation on landowners in Israel. Not everyone had to pay it. Yet is gets preached as if everyone is bound by it when it was the old testaments method of income and we have now been given a new testament method which is everyone giving as they have to share. I'd like to see your author teach on that as it is the scriptural teaching for the church. You cannot expect the new testaments blessings when you hold yourself bound by the old testament practices. Perhaps you should do a detailed study on tithes. Abraham did not give 10% of his wealth away. he gave away 10% of the spoil of battle. This topic is always twisted and taught incorrectly.

The Tithes belong to God & God alone, for a purpose

2 Chronicles 31:6 And concerning the children of Israel and Judah, that dwelt in the cities of Judah, they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of holy things which were consecrated unto the LORD their God, and laid them by heaps.
Leviticus 27:30 And all the tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land, or of the fruit of the tree, is the LORD'S: it is holy unto the LORD.

Deuteronomy 14:23 And thou shalt eat before the LORD thy God, in the place which he shall choose to place his name there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear the LORD thy God always.
Numbers 18:26 Thus speak unto the Levites, and say unto them, When ye take of the children of Israel the tithes which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then ye shall offer up an heave offering of it for the LORD, even a tenth part of the tithe.

The purpose of the Tithes was to fear God,an Holy offering and an inheritance for the Priests
Every person had to offer their Tithes
The reason why the people robbed God was
Malachi 1:6-14 A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master: if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the LORD of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name? Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar; and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the LORD is contemptible. And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the LORD of hosts. And now, I pray you, beseech God that he will be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he regard your persons? saith the LORD of hosts. Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? neither do ye kindle fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand. For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye have profaned it, in that ye say, The table of the LORD is polluted; and the fruit thereof, even his meat, is contemptible. Ye said also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith the LORD of hosts; and ye brought that which was torn, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye brought an offering: should I accept this of your hand? saith the LORD. But cursed be the deceiver, which hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a corrupt thing: for I am a great King, saith the LORD of hosts, and my name is dreadful among the heathen.

Their offering was not Holy,it did not fear God,unfortunately the Priests accepted the offering which was wrong,God did not accepted thus Robbed
Its like today, the scriptures says we are offer our "First Fruit" in our Tithes
but sometimes we give our leftover wages or none at all, confessing "God understands"

Nobody is arguing that it wasn't to honour God? But if you want to act like you are an old testement hebrew, then move into a cave, give away all of your belongings, including all things electrical, including your computer and your internet and move to Israel. But you can't because they don't even do that now. The word must be applicable to the day and we are under a new covenent now. And a new economy of righteousness. Your are trying to argue a point that was relevant and required 4000 years ago. Not now. Now we follow a higher law. And walk a higher calling. Do you really want to be an ancient hebrew? A man out of your time? My point is that we do what Christ requires us to do now. Not what he required from others 4000 years ago. I don't know why people like you just don't get that. You live your walk in 2 different covenants, but we can never mix them. That is why the law is a school master...pointing to the truth, but not to be bound by. You can't put new wine in an old wine skin.

The Old Testament is the shadow of the New Testament
The writer in the book of Hebrews compares the Old Testament sacrifices & Priesthood with the New Testament
Jesus today is our High Priest, the writer states if Abraham gave Tithes to Melchisedec, who was a man & High Priest, how much Bless we will be today if we give our Tithes to Jesus the Son of God,our High Priest today & forever

Hebrews 7:8-12 And here men that die receive tithes; but there he receiveth them, of whom it is witnessed that he liveth. And as I may so say, Levi also, who receiveth tithes, payed tithes in Abraham. For he was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchisedec met him. If therefore perfection were by the Levitical priesthood, (for under it the people received the law,) what further need was there that another priest should rise after the order of Melchisedec, and not be called after the order of Aaron? For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a change also of the law.
Hebrews 7:14-17 For it is evident that our Lord sprang out of Juda; of which tribe Moses spake nothing concerning priesthood. And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest, Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life. For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
Hebrews 7:19-25 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God. And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest: (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:) By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament. And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Hebrews 7:26-28 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
Hebrews 8:1-2 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
Hebrews 8:5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.

You have completely misunderstood that passage of Hebrews if you think that is says anything about giving your tithes to Jesus Christ. That entire passage is about the changing of the age. A new pattern. The changing of the guard from the old to the new. It does not have anything to do with money, but is about Jesus Christ being our new High Priest and we taking up our priesthood directly with God rather than going through a dynasty.
If you want to pay tithes then do so. But I would rather be about my fathers business as an heir and take responsibility for my giving to his people directly. Not to an organisation. Not to a building fund or a media ministry.

Mat 25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

my 2 cents.......the purpose of the tithe was primarily to support the priests who ministered before the Lord. When the people did not bring their tithes, the priests were not properly supported and there wasn't enough food for them in the house of the Lord.it was also used to help the poor and every third year some of it was put aside for that purpose. tithing actually predated the law of Moses. nowhere are you commanded to tithe in the nt although it does speak of it in a positive light if it is done with a right heart. God calls it robbery because they had unlawful posssession of what belonged to God. it isn't that only the tithes and offerings belong to God.......everything we have belongs to God. yet God does not normally command us to give everything that belongs to Him. He allows us to keep some as managers onHis behalf. but the tithes and offerings were different. they weren't given to us to manage......they belong to the house of the Lord.

I'm afraid you're the one who doesn't understand scripture. The tithe began with Abraham, who gave a tenth of all he had to Melchizedek, King of Salem, Priest of the Most High God, in Genesis 14:20. Abraham operated under the Law of Faith, which we do today, not the Levitical Law. Jacob continued the tithe and gave 10% of all he had in Genesis 28:22. Neither of these men owned land. Land ownership didn't occur until Joshua led the Israelites into the promised land hundreds of years after Jacob. The tithe is not a property tax. God owns everything anyway.

Know your scripture before responding with a guilty conscience.
