I was listening to some of his speech on the radio.

The guy even sounds like a Nazi.

Is Europe swinging back toward Nationalism?

Hard to say.
I'm not really in the know.
But it seems Nationalist parties have been a little more popular of late.(past 5/10 years or so.)
I hope someone better informed can prove me wrong...

EDIT: After looking into it a little more(Wikipedia mainly, checking election results:blush:), it does seem right wing nationalism is on the rise. But i could still(and hope to) be wrong.
Ironically though, the US is the only country i stumbled across having openly Nazi ideal based parties operating today:

Europe as a whole? I don't think so.

And so far these nationalistic, anti-immigrant movements are fairly small. I hope they will remain that way, and disappear again soon.

An openly neo-nazi party is slowly getting more and more political power. May God protect Greece's Muslims, Jews, immigrants and others who may be at risk because of this. May those who are full of hate come to know Him who spilled out His blood over us all because He loves us.

After elections, Greece's Jews come to terms with neo-Nazi triumph - Haaretz Daily Newspaper | Israel News

The situation in Greece is awful. 1/4 of the work force is unemployed. It seems that whenever there is severe economic hardship in Europe, there seems to a call for some kind of strong leader, and the leader usually have these neo-nazi views. They usually blame the immigrants and minorities. Only time will tell what will happen. Many in Greece are opting to immigrate. As the situation in Greece and other parts of Europe begin to worsen, we will see the trickling effects in other countries. These people will play on the emotions of the Greek people in these hard economic time and hence their political power will increase.

Unfortunately, people seem to take quite well to scapegoats and nationalistic ego-massages when in an economic depression.
It's a sad pattern.:(

What is your nationality? I don't mean where you were born, but where your grandparents from the last 7 generations were born.

Which country do you live in? Where are you posting from?

Well, if you are going to proclaim "Greece for the Greeks" and you are writing from North America, you better be first nations (aboriginal) because the US and Canada are theirs and according to your logic, every white person on these continents should return to Europe.

Also, it is ironic that this group uses national socialist symbolism and expresses admiration for Nazi Germany.
Golden Dawn (Greece) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

According to true National Socialist ideology, Greece does not belong to the Greeks. It belongs to the master race, comprised of the only civilized people in Europe and indeed the world... namely, the Germans. Under the leadership of Nikolaos Michaloliakos's hero, Adolf Hitler, Mr Nik would be swinging off a meathook somewhere in a cellar and the only way Golden Dawn would get to preserve their name would be as a labour batallion in Dachau. They wouldn't be flashing Roman salutes because as Slavs, they would be seen on the same level as Jews, gypsies, and communists and would be forbidden from breathing any longer than they absolutely had to, much less giving Nazi salutes which would suggest they are in any way equal to Germans.

According to nazi beliefs, the Golden Dawn are no more or less than an example of untermenschen hating on other untermenschen. Their destination would be the same.

Sounds messed up? That is what racism is.

Please do not paint Greece as racist country!!! Spare me the drama...

Greeks are desperate and they have some 1/2 million immigrants ...mercy... you would cry foul too if you were in their predicament! I am a bit surprised that you think Michalioliakos is a some BIG boogy man who will chase all immigrants out and call for racism...It is a drop in the ocean. And better anyone who says this checks their own back yard for racism before talk about their neighbours yard.

Anyhow on the good news the scam of the European politicians is starting to unravel
Sarkozy may face legal queries after immunity expires | Europe | World Bulletin

So if we think that Greece is down it is because there is a lot of scam politican scene in Europe but as the Greek saying goes

"who ever opens someone else grave....he ends up in it"

It's interesting that some people have a problem with "Greece for Greeks"...
or 'Russia for Russians' or 'Germany for Germans', etc - different lands
each occupied by a homogeneous people and it's respective culture.

It reminds me of the foreign policies of both Assyria and Babylon to remove
people from their native lands and move them around the empire and move
foreign people into their lands. This appears to also be end time Babylon's
foreign policy, to promote and facilitate mass global migration in an attempt
to force the planet to be one [one race, one ethnos, one culture, etc]

When God's Anointed King, Cyrus, conquered Babylon, he returned Babylon's
conquered and scattered back to their native lands and restored their cultures.

well all I can say is I have just come back from our vacation in Greece I say vacation but it wasn't it was to visit with friends and family. I saw how the people are hurting you work for $10.00 a day and see if you do not want change too. The 2 big parties have done alot of wrong and the EU is not a help either why should items in Germany be very cheap but in Greece very expensive? They are cutting their pay and Social security and will cut more I would like to see Ms. Merkel to live on $10.00 a day and or any of you and see if you do not want change. I am sure that there are other parties that can do better then Pasok and New Democracy. I do feel that the politicians and any people that stole should have to pay it back!! It is very frustrating to say the lest to see family members haveing to give up their car or moped because they can not afford it anymore and other basics. I too am saying a prayer each day for Greece but if you are not there you really should watch what you say. I know my son saw that someone in America said shame on all those who voted the New Dawn and KKP I think it is but Please they should not judge others if they have not walked in their shoes. Many are living in the streets and eating out of garbage cans and they are Greek not the immigrates that are there they come thru Turkey and then are stuck in Greece they want to move on into other EU countries but can not and what is wrong with saying Greece is for Greeks and yes Greece has always had Gypies and muslim Turks they to me are considered Greeks for they have always been there and have been treated very well better then the Greeks that choose to stay in Turkey all those years ago. But the influx of the new immigrates are too many for Greece to accomodate. I do believe that everyone should be proud of the country they were born in.

Thanks for the first hand report on the horrible adversity happening to Greek Christians.

I agree, what has been stolen from the Greeks needs to be paid back.

Same for the oligarchs who stole much of Russia's wealth.

Same for other thieves who stole from other countries around the world.

I went to Greece last year and I am planning to go this year. Yep unless you go and you check out the issues yourself one cannot talk...Very well said!

That's insane.

So we will never ever see you talking about an issue in a country when you haven't personally been to that country right?

You recently made a post about the election in france.. let me guess.. you just got back from france right?

I pray you have a safe trip and nice time there. I do agree so many talk but they really do not know what is going on just what is on the news and let's face it the US news is so much different then the Greek news we get both as hubby is from Greece and when I go to Greece I do not go to the resorts, although I have been, but I go to the village and actually see how the people live. Anyone has a right to comment on any situation BUT if you are not there you really do not know I do believe in that. You try living on only $10.00 a day and then tell the people of Greece they are crazy to want change or why did they vote for different parties!! Oh well.
