quick example: God tells you that He wants you to go on a missions trip. If it is God's will, then it is God's bill and He will take care of the monetary issues.

personal example: I truly feel like God is calling me to go to a christian college. It is by His grace only that I have found and been accepted to this college. So now I am asking what others believe about God's provision for these types of issues. I truly do not have the money to go the college and I am also unable to get financial aid from the state. So either God or loans are going to have to pay for college.

God could make it happen or God could make you make it happen. God does all kinds of things in different kinds of ways. if you are only wanting YHVH then you are good no matter what way things happen. just cling to God. bills do not matter. knowledge does not matter. nothing matters but God.

I dunno if there is some kind of grant that you can get? try that too maybe? just do everything you can and seek God and if it is his will then everything will work out. honestly if it is his will and you find out you have to get a job then that is what you will have to do.

i believe if someone just thinks "God's Will, God's Bill" is the only way God does things, then that someone is quenching the Spirit. but yeah God does pay the bills, we can't really do anything good without Him.

While I believe that God provides for us financially sometimes (and I have experienced that in my own life) I also think that he provided us with a brain and common sense (no offence intended lol.) I'd start by applying for a bunch of scholarships, possibly specifically Christian scholarships. :)

I feel as if what I posted is being read as if I expect to receive random checks in the mail or money on the ground that will pay my entire tuition. I understand that I should (and I currently am) apply for scholarships and get a job. But have any of you encountered a time when God has asked you to do something that regardless of your own efforts you wouldn't be able afford the monetary costs? Has God truly worked miracles in your life that way? Because that is how I feel at the moment, that even if I work I may not be able to afford college. Now maybe I will have to take out loans (as much as I would hate to) and maybe that is the only way that I will be able to go. And I understand that, but has God worked financial miracles in your life?

1. Determine if God is "calling".

Knowing that is crucial in order to stand on the decision and not quit when it gets rough.

That means that you must have the Holy Spirit bearing witness with your spirit.

Rom 8:16
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: KJV

Are you born again? Do you know that you are a child of God?

If the answer is yes then you have experienced the witness of the Holy Spirit.

He bears witness with our spirit on any issue of Life that we ASK Him for guidance.

Look for the witness.

The Holy Spirits means of communication with us is through our spirit.

There is a lot more to it than I can cover in this, but look for the witness.

He leads us by the witness.

He does not lead us by feelings, emotions, opinions, money, cost, circumstances, reasons, etc.

He does not bear witness with our feelings, emotions, opinions, money, cost, circumstances, reasons, etc.

He bears witness with our spirit.

Once you determine that God is "calling" then your actions must be according to your faith.

Not what you have heard He might do, or what He might have done for others.

What is your faith level capable of believing?:)

if you have eyes to see then i can tell you that i know of 3 different times where God has just given someone a car.

I have had a few times where people thought I payed a bill that i did not pay, and they would not believe us when we told them we did not pay it.

If God truly called you then He will make a way for you to go without borrowing money.

That is why I encourage you to take time to determine if there is a call of God.

The witness of the Holy Spirit is crucial in order to stay with the decision when it looks like things will not work out.

It will require steps of faith.

Take some time to prepare.

Pray
Research what the cost is.
Work an extra job and put it away in savings, go with money in your pocket.

The 18 months of preparation I did before Bible school was immensely helpful.

I even moved to the area months before school started, got settled into my apartment, started my job and saved more.

Preparation time is not a bad thing.

you might want to get your eyes checked if you can't hear with your eyes! or just read with your mouth and then you can hear what you see. or you can taste what you feel if you have the abilities of an octopus.

why not pray for those things?

those are spiritual things anyways, God wants us to pray for spiritual things so don't bother with praying for earthly things. pray for the big things and the little things will fall into place.

Thank you guys! some great advice in these last few most recent posts. I will definitely keep this all in prayer and make sure that this is where God wants me to go. I do believe that if he wants me there that he will provide, assuming I am doing all that I can do to provide for myself first. So thank you guys for the advice!

The way I've heard it said, is: "Where God guides, He provides."

Growing up as a missionary kid I have seen many examples of God supplying the needs of those He leads. He doesn't just send someone somewhere and expect for them to pay the bill. Not that we don't end up paying with our lives anyway; as everything we own belongs to Him!

There is a fine line between God's provision, and taking matters into our own hands. One must be sensitive to the Spirit to discern the difference. But sometimes, when we think we are following Him but the provision doesn't come, then we need to take a second look at why we believe we are in His will. If we are looking for excuses not to follow, then lack of ample provision will always be there to entice us. The key IMO is to simply desire His will no matter the cost, and look to the signs (of provision) as confirmation of His leading.
