The Pope of Rome has made another call for 1 Billion Catholics to faithfully observe the 40 days of Lent.
ZENIT - On the 40 Days of Lent
Why is it that the Pope of Rome calls for the celebration of Lent based on 40 days of fasting and prayers, but does not also call 1 Billion Catholics to celebrate the 7th day Sabbath once a week, which is based on the perfect number 7, and has a commandment written by the finger of God to back it up, while Lent is based on church tradition. It brings to mind what Jesus said to the Pharisees in Matthew 15:6-9;
". . . Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition. 7Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me.
9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."
Exodus 20:8-11;
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. 11For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."
