Wow is this the best debate anyone can come up with? Just one sentence against all the scriptural evidence I gave? What most Republicans don't think about is that the wealthy transfer wealth from the people FIRST. The things they do to manipulate the economy and corporate welfare makes more people NEED governemtn assistance. Then they make the middle class pay for it when the poor and vulnerable need help. How you ask. By Wall Street gambling that robs pensions, businesses, and jobs, and that make the prices rise for everyone. Also by billions in corporate welfare handouts every year, and by paying their CEOs exorbitant salaries and bonuses that they don't deserve that should be paid out in a living wage to workers, so they don't need govt. assistance in the future. If Occupy Wallstreet is not a hope for fighting Wall Street and corporate greed, just what would you propose? Just letting them continue with legalized crime?

And just so you know, the rich dont cause inflation, governments do.

Why do you not see the connection between the rich who have bribed politicians on both sides to OWN the government, and government? They have sabatoged social programs for profit. They wound the economy with Wall Street gambling and other financial abuses which causes more people to suffer, only then do they print money to make up for some of it, which creates inflation, and then they make the middle class pay for it in taxes. Stop the first cause and the rest won't have to happen. Get the bad root out and look at causes not symptoms. If you attack the symptoms you will destroy the middle class, poor, and democracy. Attack the root cause you will solve everything. Blame the ones who wound, not the ones who bandage the wounds.

If they're like me, they aren't debating you because they've gone blind trying to read your blocks of text. Please learn what paragraphs are and use them.

Also, governments don't cause inflation...the Fed does. The Fed is not government as much as many people think they are.

Robert F. Kennedy said:
The responsibility of our time is nothing less than a revolution. A revolution that would be peaceful if we are wise enough; humane if we care enough; successful if we are fortunate enough. But a revolution will come whether we will it or not. We can affect its character, we cannot alter its inevitability.

I think it is past time.

It is not radical to think that the Government
should not be taxing people to redistribute wealth. The idea that the government should do so violates everything this country stands for.

It also violates God's word:

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
II Corinthians 9:7

and:
From every man whose heart moves him you shall receive the contribution to Me.
Exodus 25:2

What this means is that when you take from people against their will, you are extorting them and God wants nothing to do with it.

Furthermore:
If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.
I Corinthians 13:3

Even if you took all of their money, it would be meaningless as they did it out of oppression, not love.

Not only that, but by claiming it's the Christian thing to do, you may cause non-believers to scorn and open yourself up to judgement.

So explain to me again how any of this is Christ-like?
That hit center mass.

It was more of a flesh wound.

Taxing the rich isn't the solution. If we taxed the rich more, it would help a bit like a band aid. The solution, at least in part, is to release the stranglehold the Fed has (and has had since its inception) on our economic system.

To underscore my point (even if it isn't exactly replying to what conamer was getting at):

The Grace Commission under Reagan said:
The report said that one-third of all income taxes is consumed by waste and inefficiency in the federal government, and another one-third escapes collection owing to the underground economy. “With two thirds of everyone’s personal income taxes wasted or not collected, 100 percent of what is collected is absorbed solely by interest on the federal debt and by federal government contributions to transfer payments. In other words, all individual income tax revenues are gone before one nickel is spent on the services [that] taxpayers expect from their government.

That seems contrary to the fact that our liberal friends are supporting this food stamp president
Feeling so blessed here that our President cares for those in need during these economic hard times. I'm wondering why others who criticize his caring are so heartless and themselves don't care for those thrown into unemployment thru no fault of their own.

No, no. If you repeat something enough times it becomes true. Right?
/sarcasm

Keep saying over and over "OWS is greedy" in the media and magically it becomes true.

Not in my universe.

It reminds me of something Reagan said responding to Carter's claim to feel our pain. He said he wouldn't feel our pain because he wasn't going to cause our pain, just like it would be nice if Obama didnt cause so many to be on food stamps
