Is the Sabbath a salvational issue to you? If a person claims to be a Christian, but doesn't worship on the Sabbath because they don't think it's necessary under the New Covenant, do you think such a person is truly saved?

If a person claims to be a Christian, but doesn't obey the commandment to not worship idols because they don't think it's necessary under the new covenant, do you think such a person is truly saved?

In other words, why do you think the 4th can be removed from the list of Commandments written by the finger of God and placed within the ark? Can any of the others be removed as well?

I think we make these questions too personal. What one person or the other person thinks is irrelevant to the matter of salvation. The issue isn't relative. The question is what does the bible say in regards to salvation and what one must do to receive it?

Salvation by faith alone in Jesus alone.... those who are saved will obey God's Word.... but... we're under the New Covenant... thus the reason why the vast majority of Evangelicalism doesn't support keeping the Sabbath anymore, because it wasn't a commandment that was brought over in the New Covenant... it was done away with. Fulfilled in Christ.

The reason why most Christians worship on Sunday is because that is the day of the resurrection.

If you guys can prove that the commandment to keep the sabbath was brought over in the New Covenant and has bearing on us after Christ's resurrection then we will be onto something. But as it stands, there's nothing. We go back to that Collosians 2 passage.

You do realize that there are laws being pushed now in other countries that forbade sunday being used as a common day right? And sabbath keepers have been persecuted in the past. It's just about timing for when it will happen again.

If laws are now being pushed forbidding Sunday as a common day, how does that further the SDA beliefs??? Sounds like the opposite of Sunday laws to me.

Would you be so kind as to elaborate on the past persecution of sabbath keepers? I like history!

I would like to point out that christians in general are being persecuted, heard about India, african countries and stuff, mostly by the muslim majority. Surprisingly no one here seems to care about that.

I dont think there has ever really been a persecution of Sabbath keepers, the jews were persecuted very often as everyone knows, I guess that was not because the kept the 7th day Sabbath. SDA often claim the waldensian were persecuted for holding on to the Sabbath truth, however, the waldensian themselves claim to have never kept the Sabbath (in the sense of Saturday)

Thats what I always think, one can be a sabbath keeper and an extraordinary evil tyran, or a sunday worshipper who is the most loving person.

In the end I dont know how God will judge and how He perceives certain things... there is definitely lots of confusion...

Constantine Ad 321- Roman catholic counsel Ad 538 the Roman CAtholic church the beast power of revelation dont mind being open and telling you, what it comes down to is doing what God says or man

I believe people should be allowed to comment as long as they are not insulting other people... we are here to talk and discuss, only communication will bring us closer...

As far as the downfall is concerned you will only find the mark of the beast as a secure downfall option, all those whose names have not been found in the book of life (which was written before the foundation of the world) will receive the mark of the beast and since their names are not found they will rather not be saved. Now SDAs claim the sunday worship is the mark of the beast.

My problem with that theory is that the bible gives the impression that the mark of the beast is something unique that will appear during the end times, could be the infamous micro or veri chip or something else.

They bible says they will 'receive' in other words they will be forced to take it, or maybe not... one way or another the sunday/saturday question will cause people to make a final decision if they want to follow the beast or God.

I have mentioned it once, should sunday law be enforced and world affairs would start to play out as prophecied by EGW I might(probably would) give it another thought but it seems very unlikely to me...
