I said in another thread that there was no "War on Religion". I take it back. Reading the comments on the Facebook page for Lowe's regarding this decision has brought me to the conclusion that a lot of people in this country really, really, really hate Islam and anyone who has anything to do with it to the point of outright racism and supporting violence. Even boring Muslim American citizens who are pretty much exactly like the typical suburban Christian save for what religion they're casual about.

In other news, I'm not going to boycott Lowe's due to this decision because whatever, freedom. But I am going to think twice about shopping at the same place as some of the people who made those comments, because holy balls.

Chajara, I know how you feel about the comments you found on the Lowe's Facebook page. I have seen those types of remarks on many Facebook pages. It is very disturbing to read many of the views expressed. I believe that if the rules were much less strict on CF we would see more of the hostility here. There are very many people in the USA who view all Muslims as terrorists and responsible for 9/11.

As opposed to what? The wholesome history of the Christians holy crusades and their open hostility to anyone that is gay or people who say something that isn't "Merry Christmas?"

Fixed that for you.

Well, that was predictable, the common response to any criticism of Islam really. If you can't actually refute anything I say, just try to change the subject to Christianity instead. Come on, if you're going to defend Islam, defend it on its own merits. Is that too much to ask?

All Muslims are the new commie pinkos now.

The only good commie is a dead one to these people.

Just like it was with Nazis, anarchists, Spanish, Aboriginal Americans, African Americans, British and French.

Demonise someone or something so that way you deflect any ire of the citizenry so it won't come back to you. Classic.

It is sick. Especially coming from people that claim that Jesus is their Lord and they won't follow his command to love your neighbour as yourself.

Both history and current events show that Islam is inherently hostile toward non-Islamic cultures, particularly Western culture. I take no pleasure in saying so, but facts are facts. So "A" is not that far from the truth. You can point to individual Muslims who hold to, or at least are not hostile to, Western values in order to argue the contrary. (As to whether this describes the Muslim portrayed in the show, I can't comment on that, since I haven't seen the show.) However, this follows the same logic as cite the fact that some Musloms drink alcohol as proof that Islam doesn't really forbid consumption of alcohol.

I think I will call you exhibit C. Thank you for your honesty, that you like the FFA don't think that any Muslims can be anything but inherently hostile towards western cultures, and unlike some of the others here you don't seem to want to make a long winding argument with me about talking openly about your hostility.

I can't believe this thread is still going. Could'nt we just agree that anyone who sponsors a reality show, of any sort, should be pushed backwards into a wood chipper, and be done with it?

While I don't agree with the grizzly conclusion, I share your feelings about reality shows in general.

Im going add this real fast.
I was informed, while inquiring about visiting Saudi Arabia, that being a Christian and entering Medina or Mecca, that I would be beaten and possibly killed for being a Christian. Though I enjoy muslims as a people, I disagree with what would be considered in America, murder. Im not a fan of promoting those sort of rules against any people.
May God bless.

:D

I suppose some self proclaiming "muslims" don't follow the originators of Islam. :D
Sure, much like self-proclaimed adherents of every other religion. They are a lot like people.

The FFA was hostile toward the show because it did not conform to their stereotypes.

This a show where Muslims aren't being vilified, and the FFA won't stand for it.

Apparently, some members of this forum won't either.

It's almost as if they didn't notice the "All-American" part of the title. If this show was called "Fifth-Column Jihadis" then they might have a complaint for not showing what the FFA wanted.

If your wanting jihadist's in America, perhaps your not "All-American".
If jihad is to rid those that don't worship "allah", that goes against every American.

Murder is the tool of satan as we learn in John 8:44. If murder was legal as it is in Medina and Mecca, than all military and police and courts are only wasting your tax payer dollars in fighting against it.

America is a place where each should live in peace. Regardless of belief.
So again, Im for the dropping of the "im going to kill you if you dont convert to islam" attitude.
Unless it promotes strictly peace, it isn't a peaceful religion, rather a cult that seeks to enslave the world.

You're not allowed in Mecca as a non-Muslim. Period. If you did make it, somehow, the most likely result is that you would be kicked out of the country and not be allowed to return.

I'm attempting to picture Washington D.C that way and am having trouble.

Washington D.C. is the secular capital of a secular nation. How does that correllate to a holy city?
