We don't, my wife's Mom did...she hid little gingerbread men around the house that she called "peekerbrownies" and she told her kids that the little guys would nark on them if they had too much fun.

It's implied that they can see and observe and then speak to their leader of their findings. That's idolatry. They cannot speak or see and yet children r taught that they do. No thanks not for me. Maybe some children may fear them?
