The 53% is part of the 99% whose rights the Occupy movement is advocating.

Actually the 53% are the ones that actually *pay* federal income tax that most of the OWS crowd live off. The OWS crowd aren't for the rights of most of the country--they are just for what they can get. Most don't even pay federal taxes. (I read an article that indicated that maybe only a third of the nation agrees with the OWS rioters--and I can assure you that with the more law breaking that the OWS people do, even less of the nation will agree with them.)

Read yet another article that indicated that about 6% are simply Socialists that want to see the end of the Western Way of life and while there were others listed in the article, I believe it noted that most of the others were young Dems. I am not Dem., Repub., Libertarian, or Socialist. The OWS crowd doesn't speak for me.

They don't speak for me. I'm in the 53%.

Here's thing:

47% or working Americans don't make enough money in a year to qualify for income tax after standard deductions and you think somehow this makes you superior because you do.

I won't go any further than that, I will just let the readers come to their own conclusions about the mindset that seems to think that just because you're not impoverished then there is no poverty.

Now you hold on. I know some folks who are the working poor--too poor to need to file federal income tax. I know some who end up getting money *back* from the governmnet when they file their federal income taxes (over and above what they paid in at work--in order to take that head of house credit they file.) I have had to explain to the IRS why my own mother didn't file taxes for years--we were too poor to have to. So you can just stop with the "feel superior" business. I simply said that I belong to the 53%, and the people calling themselves the 99% don't speak for me.

As a matter of fact, they can do themselves a favor and get off their butts and get a job--even a menial one. Hey, and instead of importing illegals to what? do agriculture work, landscaping, or just washing dishes (instead of rationalizing to ourselves that Americans simply won't take those jobs so it's okay to import illegals to do the work) there will be more menial jobs available. Menial work is humbling, but it's a start. (I started out in a laundry--you think washing dirty and smelly clothes of workers isn't humbling?) Maybe it's what the spoiled OWS crowd need.

On average, at the 350 companies surveyed by Mercer, CEOs got $7.3 million. That comes to $28,000 per working day — a little less than the average worker makes in a year.

The Corporate Library, an independent research firm, found in its survey that average CEO compensation in 2007 came to $5.3 million.

They are the 1% They have the influence in Washington. They buy and sell our Law makers like cheap prostitutes.

Here is a good factoid, the majority of Colonist were against the Revolution and declaring independence.

It takes citizens with eyes wide open and courage to face off against the powers that be.

Please provide the data to support your accusation that the OWS crowd live off of the taxpayers.

Yeah interesting but factually false.

Just because he hates the Marine Corps, which he served in, doesn't mean he should've been beaten up by the cops.

Second, just because he opposes expansion of Israel, doesn't mean he hates Jews.

Many of Jews oppose settlements in the occupied territories.

Factually false as well my friend. He was not "beat up" that would mean a cop would have had to walk up to him, and physically hit him. There is no video evidence of WHAT hit him. He could have been ACCIDENTLY hit by a tear gas of flash bang that was shot into the crowd, but thats not intentional at all. ALSO injuries like this are bound to happen, when you are asked to disperse...and you choose not to. As I have said earlier many times, its tragic, but the guy chose his fate.

There is visual evidence which I posted, that shows the the Cops throwing a flash bang at those who were assisting the Marine after he had his skull fractured by the Cops.

It doesn't matter how it happened, it was the police who fractured his skull. As a Catholic are you going to sit back and attempt to justify this ?

I'm not a Catholic, but regardless, I'm sorry (as I have said many times) that he got injured but he disobeyed a police order to disperse, and it turns out dispersion methods include tear gas and flash bangs. These are the consequences of HIS actions, you can't play it any other way.

dude, of course the officers where aiming in general at the protestors with tear gas and flash bangs. The flash bang was AFTER the initial injury, and also when your trying to disperse a crowd, a bunch of people grouping together like that is an unwelcome situation. As I have said time and time again, it was his choices that put him in the situation, stop putting all the blame on the cops who where simply doing their job.

So when the Black citizens disobeyed the police, they deserved to be watered hosed and have K-9 set upon them ?

The American colonist disobeyed the British government, did the colonist deserve what happened at the Boston massacre ?

In South Africa the Anti-Apartheid movement was beaten and also had dogs unleashed on them, did they deserve it ?

Did the Jews deserve their treatment for disobeying the powers to be in Warsaw uprising ?

Your making terrible comparisons! Nothing over the top happened! a police forced used the standard means of crowd dispursion (tear gas and flash bangs) someone got ACCIDENTLY injured, and now everyone is screaming "police brutality! police brutality"

You make the unfair assumption that the police purposefully injured the man, you make the assumption that it could not have come from the protesters who where CHUCKING junk at the cops, you make the assumption that because ONE man got injured the police where being brutal, you make the assumption that because he is a Vet somehow he is above the law.

YOU keep refusing to accept that what happened to him are the consiquences of HIS actions. The police announced that they had to disperse (he refused) the police announced that they where going to begin launching tear gas ect (he yet STILL refused to leave) lo and behold he gets injured! now none of the blame can be asigned to him OH NO! IT WAS THOSE EVIL VETERAN HATING COPS! give me a break.

Anyways I'm leaving this thread, because I don't want to let myself get so angry as to be tempted to sin.

Good day.

Good day.

Your telling untruths. There is no evidence that any protestors threw "Junk" at the police. It was the police who fired on the crowd.

You tell the family of the Marine that nothing over the top happened, they fractured his skull.

You still haven't answered my questions posed in my last post.
