Scripture Interpretation with Dressup and what the Scripture means to you
1st place : Charis
My scripture is found in Isaiah 58, which talks about the acceptable fast.
I'm focusing on verse 11 in my avatar. It says this:
'And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy they soul
in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered
garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.'
To the obvious ( ) I've added a little sparrow, that never is out
of God's sight. The servant's belt is to symbolize the love we are to
have for each other, as believers. The waterfall background is chosen
to symbolize the torrent of God's love that creates and nurtures HIS
image in us.
2nd place: twob4me
Habakkuk 3:19 NIV
The Sovereign Lord is my strength; He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.
ETA why I chose that Scripture:
It reminds me of the allegory books I read from Hannah Hurnard. Those 2 books are "Hinds' Feet on High Places" and the sequel "Mountain of Spices". That Scripture was used in the first book I believe and the story from both books really touched me so that every time I hear that Scripture I'm taken back to the story. If you haven't read them I strongly urge you too. It will bring you to a stronger walk with the Lord. [bless and do not curse]
Scripture Dressup
1st place: Servant of Merciful Love
Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.
Woodland paths draw me in always....
I love them, but especially in the Fall.....no bugs, pretty foliage, cool crisp temps, active beavers on the pond, and wildlife on the move preparing for winter.
I feel the Lord's presence when I am out in His creation, and am often drawn into contemplation.
His Living Word comes alive when I sit alone with Him....contemplating His light, power , beauty...and mostly His Divine Providence for us (even the smallest creatures)...in His Merciful Love.
As the days unfold, He illumines my path , as I securely walk in His light and grace ...... according to His perfect will for me.
Let all creation give praise to God

Psalms Chapter 118
28 Thou [art] my God, and I will praise thee: [thou art] my God, I will exalt thee.
29 O give thanks unto the LORD; for [he is] good: for his mercy [endureth] for ever.
I really like all of Psalm 118 to be honest, but narrowed it down. Why does this remind me of autumn? Well, Thanksgiving is coming soon and when I think of fall, I think of Thanksgiving. I am reminded of all I am thankful for through the good times and the bad. Also, sometimes you can just feel something in the air especially between Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is like the Holy Spirit is everywhere. When I was a child, I used to feel something about the holidays and couldn't place my finger on it. Now that I am an adult, still with bunches to learn, I understand it. We have so much to thank the Lord for and not even just on Thanksgiving, but every single day we have.
3rd place:
Jeanette
In the fall I think of Thanksgiving and remembering everything God has done for us. It's good to remember that God Almight brought us out of Egypt and meet ALL our needs the forty years we spent in the desert. He was teaching us to TRUST on him alone so that we may remember to PRAISE him.
Deuteronomy 8
1 Be careful to follow every command I am giving you today, so that you may live and increase and may enter and possess the land the LORD promised on oath to your ancestors. 2 Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. 3 He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. 4 Your clothes did not wear out and your feet did not swell during these forty years. ... 10 When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the LORD your God for the good land he has given you.
I am dressed as Miriam might have been with manna falling.
I realized manna fell overnight not during the day

1 John 4:16b,18a God is love, and those who abide in love abide in God, and God abides in them. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.
I know God is everlasting unconditional love and I feel that in my heart. With his love I don't have to fear anything. I follow his footsteps as best I can and want to with deep devotion and love. I have different sceneries of the sky at night, bright red, black and golden, the colors of fall and God made them all with love. I am dressed in red to represent love. I am carrying the large heart of God. I am a Christian, and the picture of Jesus Christ is a symbol of who I follow, he is love as is God.

Proverbs 30:18-19 (NLT)
18 There are three things that amaze me
no, four things that I dont understand:
19 how an eagle glides through the sky,
how a snake slithers on a rock,
how a ship navigates the ocean,
how a man loves a woman.
**************************************************************
I am thankful for all the things that sorrounds me. Having the chance to appreciate every little things that God created is a gift that I trully treasure. There's a lot of things that I do not know, and more things that I do not understand, but every second of my life I am thankful for the man that God had given me. The love that we share is one of the greatest thing that amazes me with each and every beat of my heart...

The verses I have chosen are Luke 11:9-13:
9 So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. 11 Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? 13 If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!
I chose these verses for this contest, not only because they are very meaningful to me on a personal level, having asked and received so many wonderful answers to prayer from the Lord, but because autumn can signify a slow drift into winter or 'death'. Perhaps there are times when we feel that God is not near to us or He is not hearing our prayers. These verses tell me that that is not so; that I can ask at any time, day or night, and know that my prayers are heard.
The gift of the Holy Spirit to me is so mind-blowing and so wonderful. I could not proceed on my journey with the Lord with any confidence, were it not for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. He enables me and teaches me and as I reach the autumn years of my life, I am very grateful that He has been with me all these years, and that as Jesus promised, I have not been left nor forsaken. I am so grateful for all of these things and to know that despite all my human frailties, the Lord loves me.
