American Family Radio is encouraging people to wear "Merry Christmas" buttons, so I'm going to get one made up with every holiday between Thanksgiving and old Calender Christmas and the subtitle, "This is what I mean when I wish you Happy Holidays".

I'll wear a Merry Christmas button on a finger. I just won't tell you which one.

Your joking, right? Not using blond blue-eyed Jesus is war against Christmas? Turning off the Christmas lights when nobody is awake to see them is war against Christmas?

God and the angels see the lights. It is on for them.

So they remember in heaven all the dinos that died for their pleasure. Oooh sorry behemoths.

Please provide all examples of the volatile WoC saga in one convenient location to streamline a counter offensive strategy. Two of my personal favorites:

Using a dark skinned baby doll for the nativity scene.

Asking a town to turn off Christmas lights between the hours of midnight and 6am to conserve energy.

The horror!

A perfect example of FWoC propaganda.

The irony of FWoC propaganda is that it often is subject to Poe's Law. You'd be amazed at what gets people outraged.

Personally, I am interested in seeing how many churches will cancel Sunday services this year like they did the last time Christmas fell on Sunday (I believe that was 2005). It was the same year that they were urging people to boycott Walmart for switching to "Happy Holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas". I just thought it was so ironic that so many of their churches cancelled services that day because after all it was Christmas, and people should be with their families. I kept thinking that they accused others of taking Christ out of Christmas, but they cancelled services so that people could be with their families (and that attendance tends to be very low on Christmas). Supposedly, "Jesus is the reason for the season" as long as they aren't expected to be in church that day to worship the one who is the "reason for the season"--we wouldn't that to interrupt our celebration of His birth. So, I am going to be very interested to see what happens this year.

I remember that and posted links to compare the homepages of megachurches to Walmart to show how commercialized the churches themselves had become.

A perfect example of FWoC propaganda.
Thanks. I liked it, too, USincognito. But, I hardly think it's a perfect example. For instance:

christmas-pc-cartoon.jpg

Or, maybe something involving other religions (OK, one other religion plus a new-fangled PC holiday)

Of course, it's really hard to beat, the Grinch ...

My attitude, exactly. Lighten up.

The War on Christmas is on with NATO conducting airstrikes against the North Pole, Jerusalem and The Vatican all at the same time.

Provided of course that NATO can use ammunition from the US or else they will have to use snow balls.

NORAD tracks and protects Santa year round:

That probably gets billed at $842 million per year.

The horror!

It gets much worse. I know a pretzel vendor in Boston who informed me the ACLU paid off Al Gore to use business connections to make all gift wrapping paper that mentions Jesus in any way to stop being manufactured or marked up 48% to discourage people from buying it.

This is going to end up in a forwarded chain email somewhere.

Actually no, a few years ago a town was turning their Christmas lights off after a certain hour at night to save energy (rather than leaving them on all night) and that became a rather entertaining thread topic run amok. It was a bloodbath. When I posted earlier that the mere existence of threads about the war on Christmas (such as this one) was presented as supporting evidence of a war on Christmas threads also happened as well. That poster has not commented here yet but he is a real warior and a regular on the battlefield.

While I think that the term "Happy Holidays" sounds stupid, I don't get upset when I hear it. It is not a big deal!

The next time someone says to you "Happy Holidays" just smile and wish them a "Merry Christmas"! It is all very simple.
