Instead of keeping a certain skin color out of a restaurant, they keep Christian teachers and the bible and God out of schools, and government, etc etc etc...progress.
There are no laws that I am aware of in the U.S. keeping Christians out of public office, there are laws keeping science in the classroom free of religious ideas not founded in science, but other than that there really are almost no discriminatory laws against Christians in the U.S. that I have heard of.
There are however laws keeping atheists out office and public life (
LINKY).
Also: do not confuse the idea of keeping religion out of politics (as in the Separation Clause) with discrimination against Christians. As opposed to some of the laws linked above which
actively keep someone from doing something because they are atheists.
Discrimination is keeping someone from doing an unrelated activity because of a belief or lack thereof. Keeping church and state separate is helpful for both.
Christians in the U.S. are so well cared for and so highly respected within the U.S. that it would be impossible to get elected to the Presidency of this country without claiming some mantle of Christian faith. Indeed our churches are tax exempt! We go out of our way to give them special priveleges!
Just look at the scandal of Obama the "secret muslim"!
It is so sad that Christians in the U.S. (one of the most religious developed nation in the world) who find some reason to feel "persecuted".
It's kinda sick, especially from
myend of things. In a recent poll atheists were found to be among the most "distrusted minorities" in the U.S.
So please, if you think you are discriminated against, maybe you should visit the U.S. sometime. We love Christians. It's the people who
aren't Christian we seem to have a problem with.
