Please do not think I am accusing you of anything. I was just stating a fact that we live in a world where woman work. Back in biblical time woman did not. I brought this fact up to show that the Bible was written in a different time and that the prejudice of that day could have been influenced in the writing.

Who wrote the Bible? God or men with biases?

Contrary to what others think, I am not trying to start a fight. I am glad I came to this forum to learn a little bit more about what other Lutherans believe, but I can tell that expressing my beliefs are not welcome. I'm going to go ahead and leave this section of the forum for now.

I do have one last question, not related to this topic at all. What are the main differences between the LCMS and the WELS?

Otherwise known as WUI. What exactly does influence mean?

What does WUI stand for?

Influence: The capacity to have an effect on the character, development, or behavior of someone or something.

I don't think you are trying to start a fight.....but false teaching is really not so welcome. You are going to get corrected here, as painful as that is. Just letting you go about your unorthodox business, won't fly.

Perhaps he'd like it better in GT, now that there's a whole bunch of words that can't be used. Words like "false teacher", "heretic", "heresy", "wrong", "dangerous posts", and a whole slew of others that Edial has deemed suggest that one is not a Christian, so we can't say those evil, nasty words to others, even when the content of certain posts prove those words are quite fitting to say. GT should be a liberal's dream now. They can teach whatever they want and not fear correction from conservatives.

Stop with the pity party. This place is hard on liberals, and if you only want to hear yourself speak I'm sure it's not hard to set up an account on Rapture Ready.

Oh please no one throws a better pity party than liberals. You should check out the new GT before shooting your mouth off. Now do you have something useful to contribute to this thread. And just how does one hear themselves speak on an Internet text-based forum?

Oh must we be so literal?

I don't venture to GT because it is of no interest to me. I'm not looking for pity, I'm merely stating that it is difficult for liberals on this forum. I could choose to not come here if I didn't like it.

I have had female pastors I liked and ones I didn't, same with male pastors. I have always understood the 'women should be quiet' verse as a directive only to the Corinthians, which is how I could reconcile female pastors with that verse. I looked at it contextually rather than literally, because it made more sense that way. The church was just starting and in that time the men were the learned ones, and the ones to listen to. That is not the case now in modern times. Also what happened to there is no male or female in Christ?

So you don't go to GT, but accuse me of throwing a pity party when I simply state the changes that have taken place there. Interesting. It's hard for everyone on this forum, not just liberals or moderates or conservatives. So stop with your false accusations of pity parties and get a clue before you speak.

Look at the Corinthians verse any way you like, the qualifications for the office of pastor are laid out in 1 Timothy 3. Can you write those off as being relevant to the people of that time only? Quote the passage about neither male nor female, Jew nor Greek in context and you'll see it's not addressing the pastoral office.

I'll probably get slammed for this but with the bolded I do agree...

There is like 9 conservative/confessionals on here, 2 liberals, and 1 moderate. . . There are a few that are active here but not a vocal about their views too

Conservatives:
Alexbethmom
Jonathan1971
Darev
Studeclunker
Myself
Seajoy
Zecryphon
Aibrean
Resha Caner **New but appears conservative**

Liberals:
Lux et Lex
Mdseverin

Moderates
Doulos Tou Kuriou

By any and all acounts in terms of people who are vocal about their views at least they are out numbered at least 3 to one.

Being outnumbered by that much does naturally tend to make it difficult to express your views. My other concern is that we, check ourselves in how we are treating them too. Its not good for us to play "gang up on the libs" because we think its fun or because we think its going to change their mind. (it won't, my wife majored in psychology and that type of treatment tends to close anyone's mind to other views.) So we should be careful of that too.

You can slam me for that if you want, you may even question my status as a conservative/confessional. But she is correct that this place can be hard on liberals and to a lesser extent moderates.

My comments were directed at CF as a whole. I didn't limit them to TCL alone.
