Clause 197 “The Laws”
"If a man seizes a woman in the mountains (and rapes her), the man is guilty and shall die, but if he seizes her in her house, the woman is guilty and shall die. If the woman’s husband catches them (in the act) and kills them, he has committed no offence."

Wrong area?

Yep, you got it your the winner. Interestingly it is very much like the Law of Moses that came a little bit later on. So much of the law given to man deals with slavery and rape. Things we would consider to be a part of the fall.

With Science they talk about natural laws. I am not quite sure what the connection is between mans law and natural laws or the laws of science. Maybe someone knows.

If people think rape has nothing to do with science then they need to join the real world and see what is going on out there. Perhaps rape was selected by evolution and that is why there is so much of it.

That would be an opened ended question and a decent one.

Ha, ha, ha. Wait...

You are saying science, which doesn't deal with morality, had something to do with rape?

Seriously?!

Yes of course, rape is very much a part of evolution. Also forensic science is very involved with rape. Doctors have to deal with rape in their practice. It is very much an issue with science.

Christians can just say it is a part of the fall. If your an evolutionist then rape is a selected trait. Evolution is not based on morality, it is based on what is going to cause people to reproduce.

That is why the neolithic revolution is so important. Anything that can produce more food to feed more people is going to cause the species to grow and increase the population.

I don't think you know what evolution is.

Dealing with the after effects of rape is a science. Looking at the reasons why and how it occurred is science.

Science, or its existence, does not cause rape.

Seriously. You are joking, right?

I know more about evolution then the vast majority of the people out there. It is not my theory so I am not going to defend it. The theory belongs to evo, so it is up to them to determine how much rape is going to be a part of their theory:

It has long been noted that behavior resembling rape in humans is widespread in other animals, including ducks and geese, bottlenose dolphins [1] and chimpanzees.[2] Indeed in orangutangs, close human relatives, copulations of this nature may account for up to half of all observed matings.[3] Such behaviours, referred to as ‘forced copulations’, involve an animal being approached and sexually penetrated whilst it struggles or attempts to escape. These observations of forced sex among animals are not controversial. What is controversial is the interpretation of these observations and the extension of theories based on them to humans.

Rape is a terrible thing, particularly with humans.

I know more about evolution then the vast majority of the people out there.
I will wait for you to demonstrate that before agreeing.
It is not my theory so I am not going to defend it.
In all of your storytelling, you have yet to propose an alternate scientific theory or hypothesis.

Do you have anything to contribute?
The theory belongs to evo, so it is up to them to determine how much rape is going to be a part of their theory:
"belongs to evo" - a nonsense phrase.

Whom do you mean by 'them'? Names?

You failed to cite where you copy/pasted this text from, in violation of the forum rules.

Can you provide citations for this controversy, so we know what you are referring to? that humans are animals?

The ToE also applies to the emergence of emotions like love, behavior such as pair bonding, and brain development including consciousness - are you going to fault it for that?

So, there is forced copulation. What does that have to do with science?

Science has this theory that they call evolution. A big part of the theory is copulation or sex or reproduction. Perhaps your Science teacher can explain it to you.

I would be glad to tell you about the Bible, but if you want to learn about evolution perhaps you should get a evolutionist to explain it to you.

First of all I am talking about the world not just the usa. But even here in the usa how many people have read even one book on evolution? Anyone that has read at least one book on evolution knows more then the vast majority of people out there. If you have read four or five books that pretty near makes you an expert.

In fact I knew a guy with a phd in biology and I was amazed at how little he knew about evolution. Of course he graduated in Sweden, so I guess it is a different ball game in other countries that do not accept evolution as quick as Americans seem to accept it.

It's a fact and a theory. And I understand it just fine.

What does the fact that there is rape have to do with determining how much rape is going to be a part of their fact/theory of evolution?

Would you prefer I use evilutionist rather than evo? If you can not figure out that evo means evolutionist then we are in trouble here. If you look at the context of a sentence that will tell you want a word is.

In the Bible if your are unsure about a word then look at other passages that use that word. Then if need be look at other books in the Bible to see how the word is used there.

Then this...
What is a Toe? You mean people that have a foot fetish?
as you didn't recognize the acronym for the Theory of Evolution?

Saying that the theory of evolution belongs to evolutionists is about as informative as saying astronomy belongs to the astronomers.

So you were trying to make it into an insult. So much for those forum rules again.

It is fully up to you to how you would like to be perceived by others, and you can do that by how you conduct yourself.

Even if it were not against the rules, I would refrain from the insults, as they add no weight to the arguments, and can easily make one look the fool.

So sex and reproduction has nothing to do with evolution? You just said you understand the theory. If a women has a baby with a person she loves, compared to having a baby with a man who raped her. You do not think that is going to have an effect on the evolution of the species?
