They're both just as bad.

My friend said Christian sinners are worse because they should know better and if they sin it is usually because they ignore the promptings of the Holy Ghost. He said Jesus said, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." because the Romans really were ignorant about who he was so they were less in trouble. He also pointed out that Jesus had very little tolerance for Jews who were hypocrites and he would act the same way towards Christians who sinned. Since many Christians sin I told him he had to be wrong. They can't all be headed for Hell. Can they?

Most people like to define others by their sin, however; Christians are to reflect in their brother in the likeness of Christ. One of the stark difference between believers and non-believers is I know I am evil, but by the grace of God.....whom I love, know an seek forgives me of my transgressions...... Evil is a form of insanity..... In degrees of insanity and how can one rationalize with insanity if they don't want to hear about truth?

Btw at least skeptics are open, open minded, not against you, as is the non-believer!

The common excuse is "all sins are equal in the eyes of god" even though it's pretty clearly delineated that blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is above all sins since that sends you to hell, no second chances.

But in human terms? I would think hypocrisy would be higher than non-belief, yet many Christians seem to be quicker to criticise non-believers for not following their laws than they are fellow Christians.

For example, the other day I was speaking with two Christians - one of them pretty much outright insulted me. I didn't insult him back, though I did use mild profanity (in that non-direct kind where you use the word as an adjective). The other Christian didn't so much as flinch at the insult but suddenly felt it his responsibility to begin railing me on using profanity - even though there's nothing in my moral compass that says using mild profanity in a non-insulting manner is wrong.

So using that scenario - which is worse?

Doesn't every atheist here report to have once been a Christian and utterly reject God now?

Since many Christians sin I told him he had to be wrong. They can't all be headed for Hell. Can they?

EVERY Christian sins. You know a Christian that says they are now in a state of perfection? I've heard of Guru's that say that enlightenment is to be had this side of death, but I know of no Christian that says that they are perfect.

Jesus said that repentance and forgiveness is a never exhausting process. Atheist's reject that completely.

By sin I'm guessing we're not talking about being double-parked or chewing gum in class, but something a good deal more evil. Alexander VI and the infamous Borgia family perhaps?

In such cases I would day that Christian sinners are the worse of the two, not simply because of the hypocrisy but because of the way non-Christians will view our religion. They will drive away potential newcomers and the effect of their sinfulness will be felt for years - if not centuries.

They (the anti God seculaists) don't desire to silence our debauched, but to silence those of Christian fidelity. In fact the ones that are ex-Christians are quite loud about their pride in that.

Of course.

I will say this..... We are all sinners as believers or non- believers as believers we all congergate as broken vessels so we make ugly mistakes but believers worship God. living along side those that come to Church whom prefer the Christian life but don't belive in God, however; non-believers outside of Church if your looking for the perfect Church to join, if you find that perfect Church? Don't join it you'll ruin it lol.

Btw one other distinction between believers an non-believers is the believers don't continually live out their lives in sin, furthermore one of the attributes of having a relationship with God is a guilt free conscience.

Tergle, I have to say, I'm pretty offended by how you seem to bunch everyone who does not share you faith into this label of "anti-Christianity" while saying that we want to discriminate against you.

I never stop a Christian who seems to be doing well of following the Word they hold dear.

But hypocrites and Christian-sinners are the whole reason I left the faith and can not return - they disillusioned the entire premise for me, and made it seem like a joke. Was some of it my own logic getting in the way? Yes, and that ensure I can't return to the faith aspect. But the hypocrites ensure I can't even go to church to see old friends and enjoy the pretty songs, because I know the hypocrites there and I know how believers shun non-believers.

I would love to know, Tergle, who you think you're going to save with that attitude of insulting and degrading non-believers, especially when your Bible is clear that that, in and of itself, is a sin?

That's not necessarily true. I've faced many believers with a vice or sin that they will refuse to admit is a sin, and misinterpret Bible verse after Bible verse to allow them to keep the sin up.

Not turning the other cheek seems to be the big one.

What makes them a believer? We can't judge others salavation other than to look to an indication something is wrong by the fruit they bare... Unless of course they amittly comeout and tell you they are a skeptic or a non-believer. Many people look to the Bible look for loop poles.

I gave my self to God as a young boy to only become a prodigal son..... A supposed Godly person that wasn't committed to God, if you get my meaning.

Btw ( I am paraphrasing) God will finish all God works He started in you.

And what makes you able to say they are not? I'm not judging that they are a believer - they are telling me. And I personally think it's a bit of a cop out that so many Christians suddenly gain god-like ability of judgment every time a proclaimed Christian does something horrible that they can say "Oh well, they aren't REALLY a Christian".
