paradise/heaven/the bosom of Abraham I was really wondering about this whether paradise and heaven are the same thing.

I started reading up on this and I found that paradise is not heaven but a level of hell, when saints died in the OT they went to the bosom of Abraham a waiting place.
When Jesus told the thief on the cross 'today you will be with me in paradise' this could not have been heaven because Jesus never ascended to heeaven until he had first spent 3 days in hades,he then set those free who were waiting in the bosom of Abraham and then spent I believe 40 days on earth before he ascended to heaven, correct me if I am wrong please here about how many days Jesus was on earth before he ascended.

So my conclusion is that paradise is not heaven but a level of hell because the rich man was able to speak to Abraham from hell , and heaven is where the saints and those who believe now go to when they die.

This is just how I see it anyway

Today you will be with me in paradise - If Jesus says to me right now those words of spiritual transformation, just seconds away from death of my earthly-born body then I can imagine that eternal life happens instantly because, like Jesus whose spirit is forever, so does our spirit that never fades to nothingness when the body returns to earth - just like a flame glowing unshakingly in still air but never dies out. Bible passages seem to be unclear because our earthly-born minds nor Satan cannot interpret their true wisdom or meaning - only when we are transformed with Christ-like unforgettable minds will we see the true meaning of Christ's wisdom in heaven where God's kingdom is huge.:*:.

Do not fall for this trick, It is spiritual Psych warfare.

So what you just wrote is Paradise is Hell.

Jesus called out with a loud voice, “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” When he had said this, he breathed his last.

Mark 15:38 The Temple Curtain is Torn open. (Jesus went to the Father in Heaven).

If you want to believe that Jesus went to Hell and Hell is Paradise, more power to you.

Think long and hard if Hell is Paradise and who would want you to think that.

Guess who?

PS: I do not trust the Romans or their offspring regarding Jesus going to or rising
from Hell. Names can be changed.

I believe that Heaven is Paradise. I can imagine the looks on those spirit faces that
believed Hell is Paradise. Welcome to Paradise!!!

Creation believes anything

Hi,
It cannot be the same as heaven though and nobody went straight to heaven until Jesus died rose again and ascended to heaven,he definately referred to going to paradise first,he set those free who were waiting there, took the keys to hades from satan and then he walked the earth for days before ascending to heaven,so paradise cannot be heaven it has to be somewhere different and the ony place where saints were waiting was the bosom of Abraham.

Paradise is the holding place for the righteous dead awaiting the judgments. Heaven is God's domain where the records and rewards are kept. The Christian's eternal life will be spent on the New Earth. (Rev.21)

good morning ,
Are you saying that Paradise is still evident and that our loved ones are waiting there and are not really in heaven with our Lord ?

That's exactly what I'm saying. Just as Jesus told the thief on the cross. Believers will all go to Paradise until the judgments take place. Believers will then be placed on the New Earth (Rev. 21). Jesus is present with them. He is not just sitting at the right hand of God as some teach. After the judgments those who have rejected God will go to Gehenna (Hell).

I think you mean Abraham was able to talk the richman in "hell"? I have a few interesting threads on that parable over on the GT board if you would like to discuss it.
That covenantle parable is actually the largest study I have of the NT.

Luke 16:24 why is the rich man calling out to Father Abraham?

Luke 16:24 And he sounding said "Father Abraham! be thou merciful to-me! and send Lazarus! that he should be dipping the tip of the finger of him of water and should be cooling down the tongue of me,
that I am being pained in the flame this."
[Matthew 3:9/Acts 7:30-38]

Luke 16:26 and the great "chasm/gulf".

Luke 16:26 And upon all of these between us and ye a great chasm hath been established
so that those willing to cross-over/diabhnai <1224> (5629) hence toward ye no may be able, neither thence toward us may be ferrying/diaperwsin <1276> (5725)

They are not.

Heaven is where God lives.

Abe's bosom and paradise was where OT saints went after death until Christ liberated them. Remember, sin cannot enter God's abode. Ever. So no one in the OT went to heaven when they died (Enoch may have been an exception... though I wonder.)
