um. they're not. people are only boring if you don't take the initiative to get to know them and discover what they're passionate about.

And to be perfectly honest, making a blanket statement about Christian men being boring and holier than thou doesn't reflect so great on you.

Well, I've found Christian men to have just as good taste in music and style as non-Christian men. In fact, some Christian CF men impress me with their taste in music and are quite interesting.

My problem with local Christian men isn't boringness or lack of musical taste and style, but that they seem to be either invisible or married.

Seriously , why is it that most christian men are so boring? Not all ,but most of them are so boring.

What do you call 'boring' and 'fun'?

I want to find a good Christian guy ,but most of them are so boring. They have no style, nerdy, horrible taste in music, and they act so pefect when they know that they are not perfect.

Everyone is different, you have to appreciate people for who they are.

I don't know why, but I do know what you're saying here. There seems to be a very real stereotype of Christian men as being boring and uninteresting. Sometimes they're seen as weak, passive and uncool by a lot of people. Maybe it is the way the church has represented, or misrepresented, what it means to be both a man and a follower of Jesus Christ? People can sometimes confuse meekness for weakness and passivity for gentleness. By the way, I don't think I'm boring, so there are exceptions. ;)

Lotsa different kinds of Christian men out there. There are thrill-seekers as well as nerds, not to mention nerdy thrill-seekers.

I'll tell you something else that's funny: Half of these "bad" qualities - "no style" and "horrible taste in music" - are what lots of women say about men in general, including of course non-Christian men.

I think the whole idea of being "meek and mild" has been perverted into a state of emasculation that many Christian men struggle with, including myself. How much, exactly, should we turn the other cheek? And how much, exactly, should we stand up against evil, and for ourselves? There needs to be a balance somewhere. I'm still looking for it.

I suppose we could make like Crusaders if we want to dispense with that - they were neither meek nor mild, and they were so Christian, they killed unbelievers in the name of Christ, and they even had prostitutes servicing them on the way to Jerusalem.

That, of course, is taking it to extremes. :p

When I think about it, the Apostles, the Prophets, and Jesus Himself were the paragons of manhood. They knew when to pick their fights, but they also knew when God's will was foremost and that they should hold back. The Crucifixion is the ultimate example of the latter, and didn't make Jesus any less brave; indeed, it accentuated his courage.

So, the assertiveness that women seek in men comes in many forms, from the blatant to the subtle.

My best guess would be that you're dealing with boys, boys whom, just recently, were going through hormonal changes and having a peak at 18; and, if they're trying to be a better Christian, probably trying their best not to commit adultery in their heart and still trying to develop the necessary skills to be a natural, and productive, member of society.

Your idea of an ideal boyfriend is probably older and has his life together most likely.

a man's character is formed by repeating good habits, so (1) make it a point to confront evil as often as you are able. this will probably be in small ways that seem unimportant, but, its like building strength, you have to start small before you get strong. (2) always stand up for yourself (because no one else cares) and (3) don't even think about turning the other cheek until you get used to (2). unless you have a strong character you're no good to anyone, whether its yourself, a woman, or your faith.

I don't think they're boring at all. I've actually not met many boring Christian men. I've met non-christians who were terrible bores; they were self-obsessed, wore obnoxious clothes, were only interested in sex or drinking, quoted the same dumb movies and songs as all their friends, had those stupid shell necklaces and gave no more thought to their live than the next party. I guess it's just a matter of taste or location but I have not had your problem.

what is this "evil" and how do you "confront" it? In the modern world.
