Religion is what the Pharisees had, and we know what Jesus said about them. Jesus calls us to Him, and only Him as our means of salvation. He didn't start a religion. It's a relationship.

I agree that Jesus didn't start and new religion, but Paul never met Jesus.
Christianity is a gentile movement started with he who taught the gentiles his meaning of Jesus...that was clearly Paul.

Jesus again is just the icon.
