Ok, Notamonkey, wonders why tulc always ends his posts with a third person reference.:D

Well I sure don't do it because I wanted to be a King when I was growing up and that's how all the Kings talked in the movies. Nope, not because of that. :sorry:

A few weeks ago I submitted this letter to my local small town newspaper. They refused to print it, I assume it was too inflammatory for them. I thought I would post it here, and see what you folks think. Here goes:

February 16, 2011

To the Editor:

There has been a lot of controversy swirling around about President Obama's religion, with some 20 percent or thereabouts of the American public believing he is a Muslim. This is in spite of numerous emphatic statements by himself, his staff, and other public figures claiming he is a Christian. Of course, only he knows what his faith is at heart. But the unfortunate truth about this situation is that we cannot trust what he says, and there are several reasons why.

First off, President Obama has already been caught lying about this subject. He has said "I've always been a Christian" and "I have never been a Muslim". But in Islam, religion passes from father to child, and Obama's father was a muslim. He was named Barack Hussein Obama, and only Muslim children are named "Hussein". Obama's Indonesian stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, was also a muslim. Obama's stepsister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, once said "My whole family was muslim, and most of the people I knew were muslim". Barack was enrolled as a muslim in the schools he went to while living in Indonesia. In his autobiography, "Dreams of My Father", Obama revealed his muslim faith by describing how he got into trouble for making faces during Koranic studies. Indonesian students in Obama's time attended religious classes according to their faith.

The second reason we can't trust Obama is that in Islam there is a dogma known as "Al-taqiyya". What it means is that muslim's are allowed to lie if the lying advances the cause of Islam. Muslims are even permitted to feign apostasy (recant Islam) if needed to protect themselves or secretly conduct jihad against non-muslims.

Some of you may ask: "If Obama is a muslim, what does it matter? There is no religious test for the Presidency. And besides, isn't Islam a religion of peace?" I think I'll avoid arguing the subject, and just let the sayings of the Prophet Muhammed speak for Islam himself. Here are a few juicy quotes from the "prophet" that you should ruminate over for a while:

Quran(9:123)- "O you who believe! Fight those of the unbelievers who are near to you and let them find you in hardness (ruthlessness)."

Tabari(9:69)- "Killing unbelievers is a small matter to us."

Bukhari(8:387)- "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.'"

Bukhari(52:220)- "I have been made victorious with terror."

Quran(3:151)- "Soon we shall cast terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, for they have joined companions with Allah, for which he had sent no authority." (This is a direct reference to the Holy Trinity.)

Quran(9:30)- "And the Jews say: Ezra is the son of Allah; and the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; These are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; May Allah destroy them; How they are turned away!"

Quran(8:12)- "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them."

Pretty much says it all, doesn't it? If you would like to read more about the "Religion of Peace", please visit (a link to the Religion of Peace website that I can't put here because I don't have at least 50 posts).

My personal opinion is that Islam was satanically inspired. The advancement of Islam relies a great deal on murdering and lying. Jesus described Satan as being a murderer and the "father of lies" (John 8:44).

Because of Islam's inherently decietful and antagonistic nature, it is not appropriate for a christian nation to have a muslim leader. America can accurately be described as Judeo-Christian, and because of Obama's Muslim past, he is not suitable to be our President. He may not be a bad man, but it is impossible for us to trust his religion.

There it is. What do you think?
Your letter is truthful and honest about the situation. You basically lay out all the basic reasons for the doubt. However, we have a media campaign from newspapers and journalists and the main stream media, not only shoving that Barack Hussein Obama is a Christian down our throats, but this same crowd is busy trying to separate those who actually practice what the Quran asks of them, as the extremists’ in the Moslem religion.

Your letter was just too honest and against their agenda. I appreciated the brevity and blunt curtness of how you just make the points of the record. Also, as you can see, it has upset all the right people and there is some scramming to clean the Kool-Aide mess, or pretend it isn’t there.

Here is your link:

It is one I like to use myself quite often, as well as many others.

If Obama is a Muslim why does he have our military attacking the Muslim country of Afghanistan? Shouldn’t Obama the Muslim be attacking the Jewish state of Israel?

Your letter does not have any concrete facts just your opinion based on your readings of the Quran and some other books. Do you not find it strange that Obama’s very powerful enemies, with billions of dollars, have not plastered credible evidence of your conclusion that he is a Muslim all over the media?

If you think that you have more insight and resources than Obama’s very powerful enemies then you may want to look up the definition of delusions of grandeur.

I think he's a politician; I think he moves his lips as much as, or as well as any other politician (though his teleprompter seems to give him an edge over others when moving his lips).

The only relevance I see with someone claiming to be of one religion or another is whether or not such a claim is being made to curry [political] favor with that religion. Pointing out the truth, one way or the other, to that religion would therefore have import on what favor they give to that politician.

BO spends more Sundays worshipping on the greens with his caddy than he does in any pew. That's a fact. How relevant is it? Probably so only for those who must suffer his pleas for their support of his political ambitions because of their religion. Why would, say, an atheist, or someone of a different religion care one way or the other? On the other hand, golfers might really see it as a significant plus.

But religion isn't the only way politicians attempt to align themselves for political support. Heck, identifying oneself as a conservative or liberal, democrat or republican are also ways. And it's totally appropriate to question the veracity of such alignments. Republicans know this all too well with our RINOs - or Democrats with their Blue Dogs.

It's really just a question of scope.

One reason I could never be conservative is I would have to have an itemized list of all the phobias I have to maintain.
That's not fair to the sane conservatives among us.

I would like to see your facts proving Obama worships on the greens with his caddy.
That was his humorous way of saying Obama often plays golf on Sundays. I'm pretty sure this is true, although exaggerated by some - at any rate, hardly worth disputing.

I found no humor in saying the President worships on the greens with his caddy. What I saw was a mean-spirited attack instead of presenting a fact in a rational and non insulting manner. Saying "Obama spends more time golfing than going to church" is identical to his statement without the nastiness.

Thank you however your input was unnecessary. I will dispute whatever and however I choose.

So Obama is a Christian when you want to attack his previous pastor, but he's a Muslim in all other situations?

This is another contradiction that also drives me nuts. He's a muslim! He follows a radical Christian pastor!

Huh?

Republicans know this all too well with our RINOs

I take these protestations that Obama is a Muslim or whatever with the same seriousness that I do that W. Bush, McCain, Huckabee, Romney, and now apparently Scott Brown and Chris Christie are "RINOs".

Instead of typing out a long explanation, let me just say that the who "RINO" meme is a joke. It's made even more pathetic when people like a coworker of mine who is hardly a social conservative is using it to describe people he otherwise would agree with on fiscal and defense issues, but because they've fallen out of favor with the current avant garde he drinks the Flavor-Aid.

Considering the usual tone of comments from the right about Obama, I thought this wasn't so bad.

Yeah, but I don't let that stop me!

Of course.

If you want to dispute that Obama plays a lot of golf, go ahead, but it hardly seems worthwhile considering the number of actual, um, untrue statements in the OP alone.

My theory is that the policies of Obama and Bush are so similar (and McCains would have been as well) that the Republicans and Democrats have to manufacture issues like these so they can keep up the charade of there being a real choice between the two.
