Yeah, I had already read you blog, where you suggest fallen angels "took wives" of human women an "illicit union" which leaves one not begging "the" question but instead a whole list of questions.
Actually, perhaps you would care to read Jude where it seems to indicate that in fact fallen angels did, at some point in the past, visit earth:
"6And
the angels which
kept not their first estate, but
left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day." Jude 6
So who did satan marry and have these "hybrid" children with?
According to Gen. 6, the "sons of God" took the daughters of men as wives.
Why did God hold men accountable for these fallen angels actions ?
He didn't. Check out Gen. 6 again.
Why would fallen wicked angels be referred to as "sons of God"?
I arrive at the conclusion that the beings referred to as "sons of God" in Gen. 6 were in fact angels because the only time the Hebrew for that particular phrase in the OT is used it's used of angels. For example, in Job, Satan comes with the "sons of God" to present himself before the LORD:
"
6Now there was a day when
the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and
Satan came also among them." Job 1:6
Personally I think it's absurd to even suggest such a thing and there seems to be as much science fiction in suggesting fallen angels got married to human woman and had children as there is in the tv series you write about in your blog.
The idea that the "sons of God" are the sons of Seth doesn't seem to hold water because the only time the phrase is used in the OT it's used of angels. In addition, Jude speaks of the angels which kept not their first estate but left their own habitation, implicitly implying that they came into our realm, i.e., planet earth.
According to the OT, angels did in fact take human form on several occasions. For example, with Sodom and Gomorrah:
"2And he lift up his eyes and looked, and,
lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground," Gen. 18:2
The three men happen to be God and two angels, who have evidently taken human form.
Really? We are interpreting an average television series as having apocalyptic significance now?
To me, personally, it's of minor interest. However, aliens may play a role in the strong delusion in 2 Th. 2 - I'm not really sure. I'm open to the subject, and everyone else should be, too.
I'm curious as to what will happen to the apocalyptic significance if the show is canceled ?
The only thing that has any apocalyptic significance is the Scriptures. However, NJ is right in this circumstance - aliens may play a part in the strong delusion. You should at least keep an open mind.
