Chrislam Starts To Spread In America

We are seeing a movement toward Chrislam. Rick Warren is embracing the Islamic community while there is a move within the Presbyterian, some Southern Baptist Churches to have ecumenical services.

"Quote of the Day: “Before we “shake your hand” in responding to your letter, we ask forgiveness of the All-Merciful One and of the Muslim community around the world.” – Rick Warren in a speech to Muslims."

"This weekend, the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church in Houston along with Christian communities in Atlanta, Seattle, and Detroit will initiate a series of sermons that have been designed to produce an ecumenical reconciliation between Christianity and Islam. In addition to the sermons, the Sunday school lessons will center on the inspired teachings of the Prophet Mohammad. Qurans will be placed in the pews next to the Bibles."

About six months ago, there was a Baptist church in (I think) Raleigh, NC that hosted an Islamic service. In their sanctuary. They were Baptists, but not of a flavor I'd ever heard of, because they had a woman pastor.

I am not sure what he has to apologize for personally or for his church. But many nations have a lot to apologize for when it comes to Muslims in the Middle East.

The US has to apologize for the despots it either installed or propped up. But it has those in other areas around the world.

Very sad,

and what is Rick Warren apologising for?

Criticism

A Lutheran perspective is that Warren fails to present the evangelical Christian gospel accurately—failing to accurately represent the nature of sin, repentance and hell, as well as the blood sacrifice of God's son Jesus as the means to be forgiven by God for sins and which allows man to have a relationship with God.

Warren has been accused of absolving his readers of moral responsibility by making Satan into an all-pervasive godlike figure contrary to both orthodox theology and psychological soundness. It has been suggested that when citing Scripture, Warren jumps from one Bible version to another, cherry-picking whichever paraphrase or translation supports whatever point he attempts to convey, although the practice of using translations selectively has been defended.

Warren's statement that "Whenever God wanted to prepare someone for his purposes, he took forty days" has been criticized as both overly broad and contradicted by Scripture.

Warren jumps from one Bible version to another This is the reason Rick has No foundation for SOUND DOCTRINE!!! It is a dangerous practice.

Tell that to Dan Rather.

Rather was held accountable for his actions. He reported false news and paid the price. There's nothing to keep a blogger in check, they can post all the libel they want and there's no fact-checking, no credible sources and no opportunities for a counter-point by their target.

I don't see Rick Warren embracing the Islamic faith - I do see him trying to show Christian love to this group of people. If you lived next door to an Islamic family, wouldn't you extend a hand of friendship? It doesn't mean that you've accepted their religious faith. Perhaps it would open the door for you to share your spiritual beliefs with them.

Besides aren't we to pray for our sisters and brothers in Christ - meaning Rick Warren? Scripture doesn't say if they don't have my theology, I'm excused. How can I pray for them the way I should, when I've got a hard heart towards them? I asks myself the same questions - I had a hard time praying for a couple of religious leaders recently because my heart wasn't right about them. Their relationship with Yahweh is their relationship and is between them and Him.

I'm responsible for my heart towards others including those of the Islamic faith. Yahweh loves them just as much as He loves me.

Warren's just out for sales and popularity. Always has been.

A common complaint usually made by unsuccessful people at those who are more successful. For some reason, trying to blow out another's light makes ours shine brighter. We all hope people do well, but when they do better than us, pride (which is competitive by nature) wants to bring them down.

As for RW, well, if a blog says it, it must be true. And since we, as Christians, don't need the truth before we start shooting, it's nice to see so many out to help God bring him down.

Oh, so it's OK to use the gospel as a means to line your pockets? Brings "Would Jesus Wear a Rolex" to my mind. Also Jesus' statement about rich men, eyes of needles, and the Kingdom of Heaven. Yes, according to Scripture a preacher of the Gospel has the right to be supported by it (First Corinthians 9:14) but that's SUPPORTED, not lavished upon in order to live a luxurious lifestyle. Paul then goes on to say he would rather have supported himself than hinder the gospel. Paul says he didn't take advantage of his "right" to be supported by them, and he certainly didn't start getting into the lifestyle of wealth, paid for by those he preached to.

For an eye-opening insight into RW, google and find his interview on Larry King when he was on his book tour for "A Purpos Driven Life" (think that's the correct title....)

Listen especially when LK challenges RW to explain if God is homosexual or not....

It will give you some good insight into RW (IMO)

Ecclesiastes: OK, I've googled and read articles that claim he waffled on California's Prop 8, but "explain if God is..." What? God isn't sexual at all, let alone homosexual. He is spirit. John 4:24.

Chrislam? Never heard of that before...

About six months ago, there was a Baptist church in (I think) Raleigh, NC that hosted an Islamic service. In their sanctuary. They were Baptists, but not of a flavor I'd ever heard of, because they had a woman pastor.

It was very gracious of the Baptists to share their facilities to a group needing a venue. A female Baptist pastor? Wow, the times they are a changin'. Good news for all women, I suppose?

I believe that Christ would have us extend the hand of grace and friendship to all. I believe this is the way hearts will be open to the message of Jesus Christ.
